Fitness Works Philadelphia features several areas for free weights with dumbbells ranging from 2 to 130 pounds.
Free - Weights
The free weight areas are completed with Hammer Strength equipment, an 8-piece Icarian leg circuit, an extensive range of bars and accessories, and thousands of pounds of plates.
Circuit Training
Multiple spacious circuit training areas are available at Fitness Works Philadelphia, featuring both cybex and maxicam circuits, highlighted by many hammer strength favorites.

The cardio center at Fitness Works Philadelphia offer state-of-the-art life fitness, precor, star-trac and matrix equipment, including treadmills, hikers, steppers, bikes (change from bikers to bikes) (both stationary and recumbent) , as well as the popular EFX elliptical machines.

Small group pilates reformer classes now available!!!
You may sign-up for a class up to one week in advance to reserve a reformer. Payment must be made prior to class and is required to reserve a reformer, but there are no refunds for missed classes. Classes with less than two (2) students are subject to cancellation. Bare feet are not permitted in the Pilates studio for safety and hygienic reasons. Yoga and Pilates toe sox with non-slip grip are available at the front desk for 15/pair.
Intermediate and Advanced
Raise your expertise and skill level through higher intensity exercises; progress to more advanced exercises that integrate core control, correct breathing and proper alignment with smooth, continuous movements for all of the muscle groups; Increase strength and flexibility as you continue to refine your form.
Beginner
Train with the aid of the pilates reformer equipment and you will: Increase muscle tone; Improve flexibility; Strengthen your back; Improve posture; Decrease stress and Increase energy level. Progress through a personalized workout that will challenge you physically and mentally while energizing and relaxing you.
Boxing
Russ Burke (lead instructor) has nearly 40 years of experience in the boxing field and is a personal trainer, nutrition specialist and advanced resistance training specialist.
Beginner Class
No experience necessary. Learn the fundamentals of boxing like footwork, how to hit the heavy bag, speed bag and hand pads.
Boxing Boot Camp
Exercises related to boxing, including: abdominal work; medicine ball use; leg work; small weight work; and more.
Advanced Class
Must have beginner class experience. Learn defensive drills, techniques and situational boxing hints.

Pool & Sauna
A 50-foot, heated four-lane pool is situated in the lower level of the facility, along with a dry heat, co-ed sauna. The pool is available for lap swimming during all hours, except when aqua aerobics classes are being held. Private swimming lessons are available for ages 5 and up.
Indoor Swimming Pool Rental for Summer Camps and Day Care Providers
Exclusive pool use for up to 2 hours per visit no lifeguard – must have minimum of 1 adult per 10 children, lifeguard available for additional 50 per session pool depth ranges from 3 - 5 feet must book a minimum of 4 visits, paid in advance. Floats, kick boards and noodles available for use.

Are you ready to be all that you can be? An advanced interval based workout with abdominal training, running drills and rotating between core, cardio and strength stations to target the entire body.
Burn and Firm
A high-impact cardio and strength class, incorporating kick boxing and toning exercises for a great upper and lower body workout.
Extreme Boot Camp
Are you ready to be all that you can be? An advanced interval based workout with abdominal training, running drills and rotating between core, cardio and strength stations to target the entire body.
Functional Fitness
Not for beginners. This class is 45 minutes of non-stop high-intensity total body conditioning using functional real-world movements. You might be toned, tight, and ready for the beach, but are you able to get your child out of his car seat or carry a case of water from the grocery store? Functional fitness movements focus on building a body capable of doing real-life activities in real-life positions, not just lifting a certain amount of weight in an idealized posture created by a gym machine.
Hatha Yoga
You will move through a series of classic asanas (poses) , using your breath to guide you. With this style of yoga, the poses are held for longer periods than with Vinyasa yoga.
Kickboxing
Non-contact aerobic kickboxing where you’ll incorporate kicking and punching for a total body workout guaranteed to get your heart pumping.
Pilates
A non-impact exercise system that develops strength, flexibility, coordination, speed, agility and endurance. In this class you will learn how to correct your posture, improve balance and focus on the mind-body connection.
Spinning
A group cycling class that incorporates great music to keep up the intensity level. We’ll incorporate climbs, sprints and jumps to simulate an outdoor bike ride. A great cardio rush for all levels. Note: Some classes are for advanced riders only.
Tai-Chi
A non-contact, non-combative martial art that improves health and energy and reduces stress. Its practice promotes flexibility, balance and physical control.
Triple Threat Toning
Minutes of Spinning, 20 minutes of toning and sculpting and 10 minutes of focused abdominal and core work, all to the sounds of your favorite remixes.
Women and Weights
Incorporate weight lifting into your fitness program to lose weight, get stronger and tone and sculpt your body.
Advanced Cardio
Not for beginners – this is a non-stop cardio class which includes a mix of step, kick boxing and high-impact aerobics. You’ve been warned.
Aqua Aerobics
Come get wet and have a great workout. Using the natural resistance of the water, you’ll do a variety of exercises to get your heart rate up and tone your body. No swimming required, but please bring a towel.
Boxing Skills
Learn the skills of a boxer. You’ll learn punching drills, footwork and the proper way to hit the heavy bag and speed bag. You will gain confidence as you learn some self-defense skills too.
Double Shot – Abs and Weights
A 45 minute workout designed to work on muscle toning and improving your midsection.
Fit Yoga
We’ll incorporate additional strength moves (like push-ups) and keep moving between poses to get your heart rate up while focusing on stretching and flexibility. A basic knowledge of yoga poses is recommended but not essential.
Gentle Yoga
A great introduction to yoga, especially for seniors and people coming back from injuries. The focus is on flexibility and relaxation.
Intensati
IntenSati is a revolutionary workout that fuses high-energy aerobics, martial arts, dance, yoga and strength conditioning with meditation all while saying positive affirmations. One of the core teachings of Intensati is "you are what you think you are" and "you have the power to choose what you think" this workout is about training yourself to think empowering, life altering thoughts. It is the practice of a warrior versus a whiner or complainer.
Lower Body Toning and Stretch
Targets lower body “trouble spots” like abs, glutes and thighs. Total body stretching completes the 45 minute workout.
Rebounding and Weights
Using the mini-trampolines allows for a lower-impact, high energy class that will get your heart pumping. We also incorporate light weights to tone and strengthen your muscles.
Step and Tone
A mix of traditional step aerobics combined with weights to tone and sculpt.
Total Body Fitness
Combining weight-training, cardiovascular training and core strengthening, this is a circuit based class intended to challenge you with a variety of exercises and movements. You can expect increased muscle tone, improved cardiovascular endurance and enhanced core strength and balance.
Vinyasa Yoga
A continuous flow of postures coordinated with your breathing. This class will increase your strength and flexibility while toning your entire body.
Zumba Fitness
Zumba fuses hypnotic latin rhythms and easy to follow moves to create a dynamic fitness program that will blow you away. The routines feature interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms, and resistance training are combined to tone and sculpt your body while burning fat. Add some Latin flavor and international zest into the mix and you've got zumba!

Gym Rates and Membership
Fitness works Philadelphia offers competitive rates, varying by the following types of membership
You must be 16 years of age or older (under 18 requires written parental consent). Other restrictions may apply. Month to month memberships may be cancelled with 45 days written notice. Annual installment rates are based on annual agreement, and are guaranteed not to increase during that term. Monthly dues can be deducted from a checking or savings account or major credit card.
