- Wish there would be more supermarkets/convenience stores in the area! Love Food Cellar and their products but I don't want to spend $50 on three things each trip. Clean and new-parent friendly~
- Like other tips, it IS expensive. But I crave watermelon all the time and this is the best place to get it around here. Get their scamorza pizza- fresh ingredients! Chicken thai chili sandwich is yum.
- Dan GouldJanuary 13, 2022Food cellar Market is a high-quality, Gourmet style, full-size, full-service Supermarket with prepared foods & great salad bar. A must see if you're in Long Island City near the Waterfront.
- Jan-Yves woëlFebruary 11, 2015Their buffet is good, great salad assortment, and the sandwiches and pizzas are really good... They also have a sitting area, and their gourmet groceries are nice... Great cheese assortment!
- TenantKing.comJune 20, 2014Food Cellar is the place to go if you're looking for high quality food and friendly staff. Although on the pricier side of things, once you try their fruit all your troubles will vanish.
- Even pricier than Whole Foods. I come here just for the salad bar and get my beverages at Duane Reade. Staff is nice. I wish they would tell people in the dining are to shut off their speakerphones
- John BurkeAugust 30, 2015Definitely the pricier local grocery store but they have a nice selection of premade dinners, great deli and hot buffet options.
- Don't think of as a full-service grocer. Then you won't expect competitive prices, quality produce or a good selection. Just think of it as a convenient place to buy fancy stuff.
- It is screaming $$$ ☺️ but i love the variety of buffet style foods they offer. Good thing they are also allergy-free 👍🏻
- Lexie FJanuary 1, 2012Learn how to bag your own groceries before coming here, and go to C-Town or Pathmark for nonspecialty items. Otherwise, pizza is pretty great and makes a good late-night take out.
- Expensive, but super clean and the staff is very friendly. Smoothie bar is great too.
- Anastasia CAugust 2, 2018Seafood are super fresh and delicious. Great staff are working there as well.
- Love going on the weekends sometimes and sampling their cheese as well as new products they are selling.
- Old AmsterdamDecember 13, 2012Try some Old Amsterdam Cheese the next time you hit the Food Cellar -- we make the perfect aged Gouda. Find out more at our website - http://oldamsterdam.com
- CompassMay 15, 2014The organic-focused grocer is a beautiful (and truly local) alternative to Whole Foods.
- kevin mejiaMay 19, 2013This place reminds of Wegmans, so for you upstaters that are familiar with and love that place..foodcellar is the same
- Tracy SolorzanoSeptember 14, 2016Great supermarket with variety and also a buffet of food. Sucks they don't sell wine though!
- Venera VarbanovaJuly 7, 2014Good stuff can be found here, but be ready to pay up! $12 for a small bottle of green juice, anyone?
- The deli and groceries on Vernon (bodegas) have same/similar items for cheaper..
- This is a fancy specialty store, not a full service grocery. Case in point: they do not have limes. It's a June Sunday, no limes
- Again I buy something get home and see it has already Expired!! How can this place keep things expired on its shelves and get away with it?
- Be careful to Check Expiration Date I found Mold on Bread and Falafel Also Check Prices finding items without Price
- The salad bar is fantastic and prepared food are amazing. It is a bit pricey like Whole Foods but quality is there.
- Very good ham and brie sandwich sold where they make the pizzas
- Zack DavenportSeptember 22, 2013Quite possibly the best grocery store IN THE WORLD. Or at least in LIC.
- Amazing sandwich bar.buy one get one free after 9pm every evening
- Overpriced, but convenient if you live in LIC or are headed to the waterfront. Definitely hit the cheese counter and pick up some of the homemade cookies if you're going.
- Check out the half price hot bar after 9pm... Not too shabby
- Michael BallewSeptember 11, 2011Do not buy the individual beers at the front. They work out to almost $24 a six pack. LFMF
- 1/2 Price hot food bar after 9 PM. Too bad the salad bar isn't 1/2 price.
