Nothing against cabs or taxis, but every hotel in town is going to have a shuttle service that picks you up at the airport.
Pack light or check bags. Walk from security to gate can be up to a horrendous 15 min.

Don't accept anything someone tries to hand you while walking on the strip.
The new United check in area is poorly designed...be prepared for frustration.
They're looking to take your $$$$$$ as soon as you enter terminal. Slot machines everywhere...after all it is VEGAS

The s&#ttiest airport in the US. Everything is over priced. The TSA staff needs serious training in customer service. Even the airline staff here needs serious help.
Not a lot of places for drinks and food... but there are slots. Lots of slots. Slot machines that is.- What happens in vegas stays in vegas...unless you check-in on foursquare.
When in Vegas for comic books stop at maximum comics....
If you have any money left - have no fear - the airport slot machines have been programmed to drain you dry!!

When flying into Vegas, don't be an idiot and yell things out like "Woo! Veeeeegggaaaasss!" on the plane. Some of us live here and the return flight signals the end of our vacation.

Home turf bar in D concourse has the slowest bar tender in the world. Nice guy though.

TSA prescreen is at terminal 1 and a quick shuttle to terminal D
Keep your money in your pocket and people watch while waiting for your plane.
Stores start to close around midnight..pack some snacks!

Be aware: No Delta Lounge at D gates. Interesting concept of hospitality...
