- This is a fun neighborhood for everyone, with gay pride everyday! Try 9th Avenue for all types of restaurants, lots of bar/dance club options for late night, and quiet tree-lined streets for a walk.Upvoted Oct 13

- Todd BraceyMarch 14, 2019Noise, constant/daily patrol of pedestrians, sirens & mostly polite panhandlers, not to mention irate drivers honking horns during rush hour. It is what it is, NYC...much to do, see & eat.. I love it!

- Tipsters mustn't live here or get the 'hood, borders, vibe & peeps. The train yards N to 42nd is still gritty as it is west of 9th. BridgeTunnel+tourists keep near the safe 9th ave catwalk. It's HK.
- Some claim the name came because it was a tough neighborhood. While it was working class, it was always fairly stable-despite the brief Westies era. Long closed brick kilns gave it the name.
- Welcome to my hood, the lengendary Hell Kitchen. Great spots to eat, dance, lounges, near everything, Broadway. The Puerto Rican Traveling Theatre, the only Latino Off-Broadway Theatre.
