This place is almost always swarming :p. Very lively area, however, if you're going to do any shopping better go elsewhere for lower and 'less-touristy' prices especially for souvenirs
Never think that you been in Istanbul if didn't visit here, eat any meal, Turkish delights and coffee. Of course you should have a selfy too

The street so crowded, cafes there creepy, street full of big pockets, cafes close from Galata tower more better.
You can shop till 10 pm as grand bazar close by 5 pm. They do have very nice things to buy their

Walk into any dark and suspicious alley off the Istiklal and have the best kebap in your life (or the worst one if you are not lucky).
