- Chris BambergerMarch 25, 2016Love atmosphere, have had great steak here, but clarify with server about doneness. Many places, I'll ask for "medium" to get what I'VE always thought of as "medium rare." JG's "medium" was med well!
- Nicole BernadetteAugust 4, 2014Don't sit at the bar during happy hour, if you're not from the area. They will only deal with their regulars, and the bartender will ignore you.
- Uber DCAugust 1, 2013mmmm.... steak! They might need to roll you out of there after your delicious dinner. Make it easy on them and sign up for Uber with promo code "JGILBERTS" for $10 off your first ride!
- Mehrnaz MAugust 30, 2019Great service. The porterhouse melted in your mouth! Delicious! Don’t recommend the calamari, was so greasy!
- SaeedAugust 31, 2019drinks are good (mezkal👍🏻👌🏻), but steak was a piece of heaven🤤porterhouse medium cook, you definitely don’t need your teeth🤯🤯
- Lauren MacOctober 11, 2015Classic meats and tasty soft scallops. Their cheddar biscuits with maple butter were divine!
- The place is the only upscale restaurant worth going to in McLean. Try their steaks. Really good!
- Jessica PadillaMarch 20, 2012Their Blackened Chicken Tortilla soup, Crab bisque and Baby greens salad is pretty good. Their service is mediocre, unless you're elderly or their for business purposes. All-in-all, it's a good choice
- Easily the best restaurant in McLean...always consistent. Great food!!
- Best fillet in town! Martini's, steaks, cigars (back in the day)....just a fun atmosphere!
- Make sure to tip your bartenders! If you can eat and drink at J. Gilbert's; you can afford to tip!
- The Sunday buffett is a good for Mclean. Kids under 10 eat free.
- Go to Gilberts. Get Sunday Brunch -- with chocolate fountain. If you have to go for lunch, get Maytag Blue Cheese Potato Chips. And say hi to Jack.
- Lobster mac and cheese for lunch, paired with the tortilla soup? Perfection.
- Dimitros MMarch 28, 2013Its been 3-4 yrs since been here last. Food quality has gone down. The steak is more like pub steak. The rissotto was undercooked. And im not sure what kind of oysters came out. Maybe just a bad night?
- Matthew PolsterApril 4, 2012Stop in and have a drink... good old school McLean joint. Look for Toby J.
- Lunch is amazing, steak is incredible and don't miss out on their fab bartenders
- Kristell FonsecaDecember 10, 2011Terrible service and mediocre food for how expensive it is. I undestand why this was the only place in town without a wait. This place is past its prime.
