- The absolute best hotel in New York (and I've probably stayed in at least a two dozen). But get ready to pay a fortune for everything ... including wi-fi and room service.
- Nadia IssaBellaNovember 3, 2015Exceptional hotel but they over charge for everything from wifi to just using their coffee machines.
- Mike KalenFebruary 14, 2016Perfectly located in Central Park south between Columbus circle and the Plaza Hotel. Service is great and the concierge lounge is top rate. Celebrity watch!!
- Ahmed Alakeel احمد العقيلAugust 27, 2017If you have seen other JW Marriott hotels. This one is lower level than the others. And extensive.
- Travis MacDecember 23, 2012In a land of great hotel bars, this one is terrible. I hope Marriott takes notes from the ritz, st Regis, and the plaza (all nearby) and steps it up!
- One of the better Marriott properties in the city. If you have status, the concierge lounge is particularly nice.
- Andrew BrackinMay 22, 2011The Beds are so nice and unlike most hotels the items in rooms aren't cheap. The TV is HD and is really nice along with other items in room. Food is pricey but amazing. Wifi in rooms but costs.
- Lux Homes Las VegasSeptember 28, 2013Cesar at the front desk is a true asset to the Essex staff. Great hotel, great service. Love it!
- Brian MeadDecember 30, 2011sincerity in their effort to assist. great front desk, doormen, and Concierge. best location to access all points of Manhattan
- Now that ths falls under the Marriott umbrella standards have been raised at this famous hotel. this has to be the flagship JW.!
- Location, Location, Location ... Loved the hotel and their services
- See Patrick for all your needs while you stay at Essex. Incredible and unparalleled service!

- If you have multiple devices you want to connect to the internet hook up a mac via ethernet, pay for that and share its internet over wifi!
- Sarabeth's, just down the road towards 5th, is a great place for breakfast. Try the Papa Bear porridge!
- Kerem DereliDecember 1, 2013There's not a whole bunch to choose from delicacies for brunch. The price was hefty as well. Go to Sarabeth's nearby instead
- Oksana BachukOctober 16, 2010Just awesome! We were on the 38th floor and Central park was right there in the window! Outstanding service:-)
- فهد عبدالله الربيعهAugust 10, 2013Nice hotel if you wanna take a rest before you start the olympics around the avenues :)
- Cindy SalminsSeptember 24, 2013Had a box overnight mailed and they lost it for several hours. $400/night for service like that? I know it's NYC, but $25.00 for continental breakfast?
- Rim KarouiMarch 29, 2015Staff is friendly and helpful. But the rooms could be better. disappointing quality for the reputation and pricr of the hotel
- Nick ArringtonSeptember 4, 2011Nice staff! Front desk helpful and doorman flagged a cab for me in 2min!
- Steven FriedmanJanuary 20, 2013Stay at the marquis they understand Marriott service too many staffers are from the old brand and don't get it yet
- Get as high as you can room. If not, the central park view will be worthless.
- Kelly HMay 17, 2013Really disappointed. Over $500 a night booked well in advance. Elite member. Asked for high floor and got 3rd floor overlooking generators, dreary room, old; nothing like the photos.
