- Angela NelsonApril 5, 2013Atmosphere is great! So are the fried macaroni balls! Look out for the train shots-- $0.25 when the train rolls by :) and let's be honest, you're not here for the food, you're here for the history!
- Maddie LucasJuly 12, 2016Honestly, it's really sub-par BBQ but the atmosphere is what you come for! Take a Top Gun photo and buy a T-Shirt! Don't be too disappointed when you don't love the food. Nobody does.
- Chris CooksonMay 11, 2015Go to the bar and ask for the shirt, it is glittery and amazing. You can easily skip most else though.
- Mohammed Abu HajarAugust 13, 2020it turns into museum for Top Gun, the waiters will ask you to tour inside to see Tom Cruise pictures, but food they are serving, the Brisket was cold and dry and i asked to change the Hot Dog 👎
- Kevin MeismerMarch 9, 2014Mark the bartender made my trip to SD. He was the coolest and after Shots of Night Train on my visit it was a trip I will never forget. Thanks Mark.
- Steve TancockJune 22, 2018Stumbled upon this almost by accident. Famous as the bar in Top Gun where Maverick “crashes and burns” and Goose sings Great Balls of Fire” at the piano.
- Brad Korn1 week agoGotta see where the best movie ever bar scene filmed.. and if you really want to know what KC BBQ tastes like .. this is the place
- Nathan BoehlerJune 19, 2013Service from Reese was outstanding! The pork babyback ribs were dry and the mac&cheese was ok but the onion rings were very good along with the beer. It was worth coming here for the novelty and Reese
- Jenny SoxxJuly 21, 2013Kraft makes better BBQ sauce. I would have been more satisfied watching the $35 spent burn on the ground. Save yourself and your wallet and head to PHIL'S!
- Nate KingDecember 13, 2015Must see if you're remotely a top gun fan. The food was 'aight,' but it's a fun place
- CJ JacksonDecember 8, 2012Mac n cheese was okay. Definitely AIN'T the KC/STL bbq that I know and love. But its edible .... with a lil seasoning salt
- gabo canalesAugust 12, 2023You broke my will, but what a thrillGoodness gracious, great balls of fire......
- Scott BashoreAugust 2, 2015WE DID NOT CARE FOR THE FLAVOR OF THE BABY BACK RIBS. THE SIDES WERE OK ( WE GOT THE BEANS, SLAW, FRIES, AND ONION RINGS). WE LEFT OVER HALF OF OUR MEALS THERE WITH NO QUESTIONING IF EVERYTHING WAS OK
- Lisa HernandezNovember 29, 2014Pulled pork had no flavor... the only way around that was to douse it in the baked beans, then smother it with the bbq sauce. Pretty boring!
- Kailyn GabrielleDecember 29, 2012It was.... eh....? Definitely came for the atmosphere. The chicken was kind of dry but the potato salad was good. Personal opinion, just get a beer look around and go if you came for top gun
- Good BBQ and even better atmosphere! Make sure u get here in time for the night train!
- Amazing onion rings!! ORDER extra crispy. Amazing!
- Rodrigo LCApril 1, 2013Just get there to see the place, take a pic and leave. Food is not good. Sólo ve a ver el lugar y tomar una foto. La comida no es buena.
- Matthew MarshallJune 22, 2011Best BBQ, reminds me of my home in Kansas City. Try the burnt ends! :-)
- Jaime NicelyMay 7, 2013Service was great, atmosphere and decor just what I expected-- not the best food sadly!
- Steve WoodMarch 9, 2011Just take a pic of the painted sign outside identifying it as the Top Gun bar and bounce. Pass on the actual product. Place was rebuilt anyways... pass altogether.
- Robert SmithAugust 9, 2014Probably the worst barbecue I've ever had. Brisket was cold, and pulled pork was just plain bad. The sauce had no flavor, and all I'm wondering is why the hell they decided to film Top Gun here.
- Make sure you have a night train. Plus mark the bartender is a rock star
