My most favorite beach in Southern California. Soft sand. Beautiful beach. Very friendly and relaxing atmosphere.
Remember to bring your own court lines for beach volleyball! Also, no parking after sunset or you'll get a ticket.
80% of the Saratoga Gap Trail has shades, and it brings you to pretty amazing views.
Beautiful ocean view. Make sure you bring a jacket as it might get windy.
Hike the hill, and get a view of the new stadium, campus, and the Golden Gate. You gotta love the Bay Area.
Extremely hard to find parking. But it is a very nice park for picnic, hanging out with friends, and playing with dogs!
The best part of the hike is when you throw off your shoes and wash your feet in the river!
Ride your bike here if you like catching the speed while going downslope ;) Of course, that's after you do the hard work of riding uphill!
If you like staying in the shade, walk all the way to the big tree on the left side of the beach. (Also, climb over the rocks on the left and take a short walk! What you'll find might surprise you!)
Not comparable to Whistler, but it's a nice alternative since it's only 1-hour drive from Vancouver. Highly recommend ignoring the parking attendant to park closer to the lifts.
Nice place for a short hike to the Crystal Fall in the winter. Wear your rain boots since it'll make it easier to cross the river.
