- Nice clean zoo. It's a nice place to spend the day with the kids. Though, don't go when is extremely hot. You have to walk a lot and it's horrible when it's extremely hot. The zoo is quite big.
- Chad MillerAugust 23, 2014During the summer, KCRW presents Roaring Nights. No children allowed means an adult-only night in the park with your favorite food trucks, alcoholic beverages, and things that go bump in the night.
- Faris AltorkiSeptember 14, 2015We liked it and it worth the visit, but unfortunately it was an extremely hot summer day and most of the animals where inside their caves :(
- ℳ𝒶𝓎♍September 8, 2019Situated atop Griffith Park the zoo has spectacular views of the greater LA area. The amazing diversity and quantity of animals is wonderful. It offers all sorts of animal encounters grouped by region
- Bình HàOctober 11, 2016Zoo and Botanical garden? Just the animals. The harbor seals are supper cute though. Make sure to check the maned wolves, such magical forms. Snow leopards are actively posing, live up to its name.
- Lizi JonesFebruary 26, 2018So much fun, I recommend going on a cooler day to see more animals. Was disappointed with some of the animal enclosures though, they need more space & wildlife!
- Tammy MisenheimerDecember 23, 2018Surprisingly the Zoo Grill is good along with the Reptile building and Gorilla enclosure. Landscaping is marked and interesting as well. Walk ways are wide and clear. Australian section most enjoyable
- Jeremy AnslowApril 17, 2017Every animal you could want to see in a major zoo. You can bring anything you want that fits in a backpack I.e. Save your money and pack a picnic!
- Jam FlorAugust 12, 2014This $42 million exhibit complex at the center of the zoo opened in 2010 and houses Asian elephants wildlife.LA Zoo is a 133-acre (54 ha) zoo founded in 1966 City of Los Angeles owns the entire zoo,
- Daytrippen.comAugust 24, 2012Be at the gate when the zoo opens. Head to the back of the zoo and work your way forward. Try to see everything by noon and then head out as the mass of visitors comes pouring through the entrance.
- Nacho CarmonaMay 7It's that old kind of Zoo, with animals enclosed in a small place although the Zoo is pretty big by itself. Sometimes sad to see animals lonely in such tiny spaces, they even separate same species.
- Robin RodriguezMarch 27, 2016Love coming here on Easter but you have to be here as soon as they open because it gets crowded. We leave after eat lunch watching the monkey's. :-)
- Peter HeinzMay 29, 2018Become a member here for just a few dollars more and come back everyday for a year with so many other zoos included.
- Vanessa RickmonJanuary 10, 2015The staff at the #LaZoo is so professional. This visit was so educational but fun! Kudos for hiring a knowledgeable staff.
- Erika RMarch 9, 2013Whoever said parking sucks is entirely incorrect... FREE parking (yes, free parking in LA) and a huge lot. Also the beer is only $5 (domestic) $6 (imported!) Reasonably priced food too! Or BYO picnic!
- Lucy J SosaJanuary 25, 2016The botanical gardens are okay but the animals seem kind of stressed because of the few space that they have... Make sure you put on solar screen. Here's a picture of a baby duiker and durunuk.
- Erika RobbinsApril 10, 2016A nice place to spend a day in LA. Lots of animals; lions, tigers, AND bears!
- Best place to bring kids, get some outdoor exercise or have a stroll with a beer in hand. Yearly membership beats any gym or kids place fees.
- Steven MemelMay 8, 2016Mothers Day and mommas and Babies at the zoo! Much fun!! (Plus the Dino exhibit where kids can actually control a dinosaur!!)
- R WilliamsAugust 25, 2013If short on time or want to avoid a lot of hot walking Take shuttle for $2 a head to back of zoo and walk down to entrance. First shuttle stop/start is just past marketplaces 200 yards past entrance.
- Decent if not world class zoo - a bit small for the size of LA. Membership is a steal for repeat visits especially if you have kids. Arrive early as parking can be a disaster.
- Pacific CoachwaysJuly 9, 2015Our groups love going to the LA Zoo. Great for field trips and summer camps.
- HISTORYApril 1, 2010The original LA zoo opened in 1912 about two miles north of this location until it opened here in 1966. This location originally contained housing for veterans returning from WWII until the mid-1950s
- Noricorn 123December 12, 2015The Christmas light show is so cute and great for the family or date night 😍🙂💚
- Moe ShehataFebruary 21, 2016Don't visit the zoo when it just opened except if you're gonna be there for a while. It's a good collection of Animals but the place isn't as great
- The two ocelots are worth checking out before kids area and to the left area from Giraffes are the servals - good that they now have a male and female to keep each other company
- Alexis VillanuevaFebruary 25, 2012Food is pricy, buy the collector cup it's worth it. You can get free refills at the big stand if no one sees you. LOL. I should know, I work here haha
- Marty GootelSeptember 27, 2016I finally got to see the Dinosaur exhibition and loved it. Also there was hardly any people.
- Brandon HoangApril 3, 2017Keep an eye out for the friendly and knowledgeable docents! Muriel was the best
- Philip TamDecember 8, 2014Gets pretty cold at night and definitely smells like a zoo. Much larger than you'd expect though, so be prepared to walk!
- Paris EllisFebruary 25, 2017Great to get close to the giraffes and chimpanzees. Beautiful grounds also.
- Aaron SimardNovember 5, 2011The food at the zoo isn't great. If you're hungry head across the street to the Autry Museum. There's a bigger selection and healthier options.
- ForrestJuly 14, 2017Make sure to remember your sunscreen! The grift shop charges an arm and a leg for it.
- Angie GuerraJuly 9, 2010On weekends, gift shops & merchandise carts in the zoo all close by 5p, the International Marketplace shops close @ 5:30p. During the week, the Int'l Marketplace shops close *promptly* at 5p, so plan

- Diana AAugust 6, 2013This place seemed amazing from the enormous entrance sign but what a disappointment. We walked endlessly and didn't see much. Sign out front: beware of bees is true they are everywhere & will attack.
- YoplaitSeptember 6, 2011Check out the 6-acre Pachyderm Forest elephant habitat to see these amazingly strong animals. Did you know they can lift as much as 130 humans?

- Rachel DelmarAugust 1, 2010Don't miss the Winnick's Family Children Zoo area, not just a petting zoo! Lots of fun. A nursery, a cave to explore, more animals!
