- Reed AvalonJanuary 31, 2017Matt's House Margarita is splendid. The bar is welcoming and airy on a warm day, with large service windows open to the patio.
- Kevin DudleyJune 24, 2018Start with the Bob Armstrong Dip and follow that with the Mexican Pizza or Fajitas. Service was great and food was excellent.
- Dallas ObserverAugust 19, 2014This family-owned restaurant, the progeny of the venerable Matt's Famous El Rancho in Austin, is a vast indoor and outdoor space. Read more
- Jennifer SilvyAugust 29, 2015The food was good, if a bit on the high side. The margaritas were great! However, it was so loud that we could hardly hear ourselves speak. The waiter even had difficulty hearing our order.
- The traditional tortilla soup at this location is loaded with chicken, avocado, and tortilla strips. Even the small will fill up most people for lunch.
- Julio VelasquezSeptember 6, 2011Fantastic Tex-mex - the enchiladas and the queso are fantastic...but they also have delicious chicken fried steaks! Read more
- It's just not as cool now that the Bob Armstrong is on the menu. It's like finding out there isn't a Santa. That's right kids THERE IS NO SANTA DEAL WITH IT.
- Do you like trying new things with melted cheese on them? Do you enjoy amazing wall murals? Then you are effing in luck!
- Erin MiddletonOctober 21, 2012Don't listen to Jon. This is a Dallas food landmark. Queso and margaritas are da bomb!
- Always a wait... So make a reservation or get there early
- Excellent food and in all our years coming here we've always had wonderful service!
- SusieDrinksDallasAugust 25, 2011Don't get too attached ... it's closing soon. Jerks.BUT in the meantime, try the large Smoked Bob and skip your meal. And don't miss the ridiculously strong margaritas.
- The bob Armstrong queso alone is worth the trip. Avoid bad service (and more expensive prices) by coming for lunch M-f 11-3pm. Margaritas are great too!
- Blake JessupJune 27, 2017Matt's used to be the pride of Dallas when Matt was alive and when it was by the Lakewood Theater, now it's an embarassment. Save yourself, avoid it.
- If you get tortilla soup to go, make sure they pack your avocado. This is the second time in a row. Ugh
- Roque was an amazing waiter! NW worked above and beyond at our table of 16.
- Nathan BouchérOctober 29, 2012Bob Armstrong makes his triumphant return to Lakewood! And the heavens rejoiced!
- MichaelaOctober 21, 2011THE BOB ARMSTRONG AND A LARGE HOUSE MARGARITA. That is what Texas means to me.
- Once Matts is gone, try the Taco Joints Disaster dip. Just as good.
- AngelonEDGE @AngelonEDGE on TwitterOctober 3, 2010The queso is exceptional. Service slow but very professional. Seating inside is very noisy due to high ceilings.
- Ashley GarrisonJanuary 4, 2013CALEB is the best waiter we have had here. Everyone else has been awful.
- Devin HamiltonOctober 24, 2010Good food, but they have a problem getting the orders right, and the kitchen is a bit under-staffed!
- Carolyn S.November 20, 2009I would drive for hours to eat a Bob Armstrong. It's that good. The sour cream enchiladas aren't on the menu, but they're tasty.
- They're gearing up for Cinco de Mayo at Matt's. Get a sangria margarita. Go for the grande.
- Marion CipherMay 3, 2013Typically I love Matt's. last night wast so great though. Very poor service & the fajitas aren't great.
- T.j. JamesFebruary 1, 2012Two dollar you call its till they close the store...they are moving locations..
