- Everyone knows U St. for Ethiopian, but that doesn't mean there aren't great places off the strip. Meskerem is a DC classic that beats plenty of the more well-known joins on U.
- Jeb GavinAugust 30, 2012Great Lamb, amazing mother and child, spicy and delicious tomato salad, but the lentils were a little cold and undercooked. I'd definitely come back, though.
- Kathryn JohnsonFebruary 17, 2013Fun atmosphere and great food! The sampler platter is a ton of food and lets you try a little bit of everything.
- Spencer FlaggJune 21, 2010Get the Ethiopian Stout. I always get the imported 'local' beer when eating out at these exotic places and this beer was hands-down the best I've had.
- Sara AllenFebruary 17, 2013Delicious! Get the sampler platter. It's so much delicious food! Go home happy.
- Shaina BoswellJuly 4, 2012Great food and service. If you're looking for good food and something different definitely go there.
- Joseph PetersonSeptember 2, 2012Great atmosphere. Most places have better enjera though: here it breaks easier.
- CJ WallingtonMay 13, 2011Now serving Enat Ethiopian Tej (honey wine). Not the best I've had, but much, much better than the others.
- Leila Party Girl👑June 19, 2011When u ask for water make sure u say tap or they'll bring out a bottle of water and charge u for it! Overall service suxed and the food was not appetizing at all. The beef & veggie samona was good tho
- Lacey CappsSeptember 16, 2013First & last visit. Save your money & make your way to Etete on U street or Ethiopic on H street or any of the others for that matter. Placed was dirty & food was mediocre. Service C+.
- Jenny YousfiMarch 10, 2010Share the communally-served Meskerem Messob sampler with friends - just make sure their hands are clean! Read more
- DistrictBlake !!!July 6, 2012This was marginal Ethiopian food. Even with the Scoutmob 50% off it was not worth it. Food was very bland, vegetable were over cooked and the injera had no flavor. This was very disappointing.
- Stephen MMarch 19, 2013Avoid this place unless you like the tourist version of Ethiopian food. U Street is a better bet.
