- jennifer milliganDecember 16, 2012Go here! All the food is home cooked and buffet style. Everything was delicious and the waitresses are dressed like from the americana revolutionary time period. All very polite and good service
- J CAugust 16, 2016Fried Chicken! There is also broiled chicken and pulled pork. Authentic southern cuisine. Not for the faint hearted, you need to be hungry to really enjoy this place. I would definitely come back.
- MattMarch 29, 2016Really loved my biscuit. I regret not getting seconds on green beans because they were really good. Little pricey but it's all you can eat and a fun experience
- Krystal LuckAugust 19, 2019The food is fantastic. I like that they've opened the house and created a pub, but I do miss the tour. The gift shops are great, the general store is one of my favorite places to buy gifts.
- DavidNovember 6, 2016Visited here back in September of 2013 and I loved the old colonial atmosphere inside. This place serves (in my opinion) best fried chicken anywhere in the US. They also have good desserts.
- Christy FApril 10, 2015Come for the history & the opportunity to eat like they would in the 1800s, stay for the fried chicken, biscuits, mashed potatoes & apple cider. It's all delicuous!
- Jane FriedmanOctober 14, 2014A cheerful place to get lunch and shop a little if you're visiting Monticello or doing a vineyard tour. Definitely for tourists; don't expect more than solid country cooking. Good for families.
- Cynthia de LorenziDecember 22, 2015The food is amazing and it is a fun adventure dining in tavern as it was in the 1700s. A great stop on the way to or from Monticello!
- Kyle ByeMay 31, 2015Enjoy a colonial feast, complete with fried chicken, pulled pork bbq, potatoes, coleslaw, beans, and cornbread! Also, the pewter plates & glasses are a nice touch.
- Santi CaamañoOctober 22, 2015The classic lunch spot at Monticello! It has a great lunch old fashion style! You'll feel you're dining in the 1700s.
- Chad HembreeJuly 10, 2013An $18 southern style buffet. It is good, but so is Golden Corral by that standard for a lot less money. The tour and shops are nice and worth a visit.
- Maggie MacGDecember 28, 2015Good buffet but not for the faint of heart... very rich meal with excellent fried chicken and interesting stewed tomatoes.
- Jeri BeckSeptember 24, 2020It’s fabulous because of its history but I thought the buffet was overpriced for fried chicken and sides. I enjoyed the general store more.
- Jay WagnerJune 13, 2014Try and arrive about 11:30am when they start serving, or just before. It tends to get crowded, especially if the buses start showing up! Menu is good, but not for those on a diet.
- WorldStridesApril 5, 2011Discover revolutionary-era Virginia with costumed guides and servers at the historic Michie Tavern built in 1784 and later enjoy a meal of traditional 18th century-style fare.
- Leonard ClarkMay 31, 2017The food is good. They come around to you yo see if you want more. Sometimes to much. But i liked it.
- HISTORYAugust 9, 2010William Michie built this home in 1772 & by the late 1770s had many travelers asking for room & board. In 1784 he received a license to charge for food & beds after building a tavern.
- Kristin JohnsonNovember 10, 2012History geeks rejoice! Great Virginia food with friendly staff, and the tavern tour is a must!
- Dan WanstreetJuly 6, 2013These bonnets and pantaloons don't leave much to the imagination (i can see ankles) .......I thought this was a good Christian establishment
- Fede RamírezDecember 17, 2012Delicious food, nice people and beautiful place...!!! The waiters and waitresses are dressed as XVIII century...!!!
- Joseph OstanskiJuly 3, 2011The fried chicken and peach cobbler were the best my fiance and I have ever had. Amazing.
- I never liked stewed tomatoes unit I tried them here. They are wonderful.
- Stacey Pushnik DohertyNovember 5, 2011Good southern buffet, but not sure it was worth $40. Although, I'd return with out of town visitors.
- If you're not actually at Michie Tavern, you shouldn't check in there.
- Demetrios LambrosNovember 23, 2013$62 for a family of four, mediocre food. should've eaten somewhere else.
