Boxing Instruction Program
Whether you want to learn boxing as a hobby, for self defense, to test yourself in carefully supervised matches or become an amateur or professional fighter, our Boxing Instruction Program is the most unique boxing instruction program in the country with small group training that follows a comprehensive and progressive curriculum.
You will be guided through a formalized training system where you will progress through Levels and ultimately be recognized for your ranking by Peter Welch's Gym - similar to the belt system found in many martial arts.
The Boxing Instruction Program was developed by Peter Welch - a former Golden Gloves champion and the elite boxing coach for many UFC Fighters including; Kenny Florian, Jorge Rivera and Brock Lesnar.
Under the supervision of several class instructors, you will learn the basics of boxing mechanics. Over time, you will learn traditional boxing techniques that paved the way for Dempsey, Marciano, Hagler, Robinson, Ali and countless others who made boxing history.
This program incorporates and builds off the conditioning principles used in the Fighter Conditioning Classes.
To experience a Boxing Instruction Program Class, we encourage you to take a free class on Tuesday (7:30pm) or Thursday nights (7pm).
Including foot and hand placement, basic footwork and combinations, and how to move in the ring while throwing punches.
Skill Development
Rhythm and balance, agility, speed, eye-hand coordination, reaction time.
Ultimate Strength and Conditioning
Work your upper body, lower body, core body and engage various bodyweight, barbell, plyometric, cardio, and other fighter-related strength exercises.

Youth Program
In a fun, closely supervised and engaged environment, children (boys and girls) will learn basic boxing skills and conditioning exercises that will build their self esteem, discipline and confidence.
Children will be taught the basic stance, footwork, punching combinations and how to properly use boxing equipment such as pads and bags. They will practice and perfect a wide range of boxing drills (no sparring), a variety of bodyweight and strength conditioning exercises along with cardiovascular and flexibility related activities that will measurably improve their overall physical conditioning and mental focus.
Children will be broken into groups based on age and skill level.
Kids Boxing Fitness (Fall 2012 Session)
For Boys and Girls 8-15 September 24 - December 15 (12 Weeks) Mondays and Wednesdays 3:30-4:30pm and Saturdays 1:30-2:30pm. Free Preview Week September 17

The personal training programs at Peter Welch's Gym are for individuals of any age or fitness level. Our trainers provide you with an individualized exercise program tailored to meet your health and fitness needs. Our specialties include:
Working with a personal trainer can help you maximize your workout so you get the most out of the time you spend on your fitness program. Personal training allows you to receive customized exercise plans, gain motivation and be empowered to stay on track to meet or exceed your fitness goals.
Personal training is available Monday - Friday from 6am- 9pm and on weekends from 9am-5pm. For your convenience, Peter Welch's gym has men's and women's locker rooms.
