- The only airport in the world where the TSA agents smile and say "hello". Be nice back to them.
- Fantastic airport to be running late to, especially the early morning flights security and check in do not take much time at all!

- If you're trying to avoid paying for parking, the Smart Way Bus has a stop here at the airport and can take you to/from Blacksburg, Christiansburg, and Roanoke.
- Great regional airport with an excellent, friendly staff. Security lines can be long when VT students are traveling or on football 🏈 game weekends.

- Heidi GilbrideJanuary 27, 2012No need to go too early. Park rental, drop off keys, check luggage, get passed security, & to your gate under 30 minutes.
- I always arrive 35 mins before take off.. with enough time to check my bag, roll through security with tsa pre and get to gate before boarding starts.. You can't do that at many other major airports.
- If you're looking for food, there's a McAlister's Deli on either side of the security checkpoint. But that's your only option.
- They require shirt and shoes, so don't leave home without them.
- Quiet, tiny airport. No wait getting through security.
- Some of the friendliest TSA people I've encountered at any airport.
- There is now a restaurant passed security at the gates! Woohoo!
- One plane lands at a time, yet it take 30 min to get checked luggage.
- Pseudo TSA pre-check. Get an orange card and bypass the porno scanner!

- If you can avoid it, try not to fly to Atlanta from here. The hold ups are never ROA's fault, and always ATL's.
- Don't rush to get there early, you can check in, go through security, and be at your gate in 5 minutes.
- The bus from the parking lot to the terminal does not run as advertised. Plan on walking. They have x-ray for checked baggage now. TSA lines are short but many travelers inexperienced & cause delays.
- JW BlannchardJuly 2, 2010Security is rarely a problem at ROA. If you give yourself plenty of time, there is free Wi-Fi provided in the terminal for your pre-flight entertainment.

- Vending machines with snacks and beverages by the restrooms on the first floor
- Security line is rarely more than five minutes, but the day before spring break or when there is a race in Danville the line can be long.
- Small airport? Sure. Shouldn't take longer than 10 minutes to get through security, though

- Stop and say Hi to me, Steve at the National/Alamo car rental counter.
- Eat in the Cafe outside security. Once you go through, there isn't anything decent to eat.
- Small airport - don't assume you can rush through security as most flights all leave at the same time so a rush of ppl.
- Flights rarely run on time, but there is free wi-fi and no fuss security
- Opt at of the porno scanners. We can stop the madness!
