Ate in the prep kitchen and was very impressed! Almost like Girl and the Goat in their modern and unique takes on everyday and comfort food. Totally different yet very recognizable. Loved it.

Make sure you do a tasting menu and ideally in the Prep Kitchen. Ignore the naysayers confused by a casual concept. The fried chicken with sun choke salsa is amazing.

They were out of the steak & eggs and burger by 1p so get there early if you want the goods!! Delicious chicken + waffles and bacon, though. And the aged cheddar rillettes! 😍 Also the music is 🔥

Go all in for the pre-set menu, but be sure to come hungry. Five courses is really like 20 dishes, all of which are incredibly unique and inventive, and absolutely delicious. PS no substitutions!

cool spot w/ a hip ambience and Top 40 tunes; it’s hard to pass up the fried chicken but the shishito peppers and octopus are great appetizers. Unpopular take but you can ditch the chickpea fritters.

Grant Achatz does it again! The duck 5 ways is absolutely incredible. Hushpuppies foie gras and duck toast were also mind-blowing. Don’t miss out on this gem while in Chicago.

The Bartender's Amaretto Sour is made with Lazzaroni Amaretto, Cynar 70, black truffle, lemon and egg white. The moment it hit my tongue, I felt an uncanny blast of nostalgia. Read more

The aged cheddar rillettes, the chicken waffles and the peach desert… are a must try. Really, all is great, one Michelin star and more.

A relatively casual atmosphere for a higher end restaurant. I would describe the food as luxury comfort food in the best possible way.

Good, but was expecting a lot more. The three dishes & two cocktails I had all had some interesting elements but didn't feel any were properly balanced. Didn't feel Alinea Group pedigree of excellence

Get hearth reservations. Flawless food and service but still casual. The duck is amazing.

Huge fan of Grant/Alinea/Aviary. Roister doesn't keep up. Great service, super nice servers and staff. But based on their $85 tasting menu, Trenchermen outperforms at half the price.

Restaurant concept and creativity of food leading up to final course, but dissapointing finish. You dont go to a Grant Achatz tasting for a Fried Chicken, Grilled Chicken & chicken combo.

Beware if you have bad allergies - they are not aware/prepared. Chicken three was was good. Same with the duck. Proteins/bigger plates were much better than the starters. Proportions overall were big
