- Michael OwensFebruary 24, 2014With the best Indian food in San Francisco, Saffron Grill is a local treasure. Their spice levels are significantly higher than most restaurants. The chicken tikka masala spicy is amazing!
- Nick LashinskyJuly 20, 2015Really really good, high quality, home-made style Indian food. Better quality ingredients (like chicken) than most Indian restaurants in SF. Reasonably priced as well: $10 for dinner plates.
- Ari SigalOctober 28, 2019Great value Indian. Great saag paneer and garlic naan. Chicken tikka masala was also solid. Ordered 6/10 spicy and it was mild. Riesling was a little sweet but tasty.
- Jacob StillmanDecember 20, 2013THERE is Indian food in NOPA! Who knew?! Very attentive and helpful service. By the time we we left (8:30) the place was filled. The food was very good. Can't believe I'd never been in before!
- Delicious Indian food - but heed their warnings about their spice scale - we ordered a "medium" (what I usually request at Indian restaurants) and it was unbearably spicy. 😳
- Kayla HensonApril 23, 2019Great affordable neighborhood spot. Get the chicken tikka masala, yellow daal, and naan. They bring pappadum as an appetizer with sweet and spicy chutneys.
- A favorite regular spot and some of the best Indian food I’ve had in SF. The staff here are lovely and everything on the menu is good
- Emily WarrenMarch 24, 2014Love the quick service and friendly vibe at this tiny place, and the food is delish. Just make sure to order "mild" unless you are ready for SERIOUS spice. Medium was way too much for me.
- Claire SchlessingerApril 10, 2016Yellow daal, saag paneer, and baingan bharta. Tandoori paneer is also great
- Catherine SMay 24, 2014Cozy spot, food was delicious. Also, the woman who served us was so kind. Thank you!! I will certainly come back.
- Sana RaoOctober 24, 2014Really good and authentic food. Amazing service as well! Beware of the spice levels. Medium spice is NOT medium.
- Annie 🌺 JalotaApril 1, 2018I’m disappointed, everyone loves this place. Aloo gobi didn’t absorb flavors of the masala, pakora was flavorless, and veg biryani had sweet raita with it (didn’t compliment the rice). Bummer!
- Awesome Indian place. If you ask for it spicy, they make it quite spicy (which is fantastic!). Great food across the menu.
- Nino EAugust 14, 2014Excellent hole in the wall Indian place, a little on the sweet side but the saag paneer is bangin'.
- Josh WhelchelSeptember 19, 2015Don't miss the pakoras! Dip em in your spicy saag like Frodo dippin the ring into mt doom
- Less deathly spicy and more flavorful than past experiences. The Chicken Sagwala and Korma were big hits.
- Aaron GotwaltNovember 27, 2011You know what? Chicken tiki masala is a totally predictable. And delicious. Medium spicy is enough to notice without feeling like you're trying to prove anything.
- Sara CraneNovember 1, 2012Make sure to order the Chicken Byrani. Hands down, the best I have had on the West Coast!
- Guillaume De ZwirekJanuary 15, 2012This place is unreal!!!! The owner wears an awesome red hat... all of these guys are from eastern Europe. That's g!!!
- Kalle StaufferOctober 17, 2012Here's one more. Best Indian food anywhere. Don't forget the garlic naan
- Pavan KulkarniMarch 7, 2017Decent Indian food and price is super reasonable for the quantity. Ambiance is not very fancy.
- April Vee DubMay 1, 2011Quite possibly the quietest restaurant experience I've ever had. Bliss! Also: order the butter chicken.
- Matthew BroffmanSeptember 30, 2010Absolutley the best Indian food anywhere...period and the staff is great. Try something...anything.
- Kevin TranOctober 28, 2009Love the food here...the best Indian food I have ever had and I'm not kidding considering there are so many good Indian restaurants in the city.
- Sravanti TekumallaAugust 21, 2018Their “mild” food was WAY too spicy, even for me, and I’m Indian! Would not come back.
