With the best Indian food in San Francisco, Saffron Grill is a local treasure. Their spice levels are significantly higher than most restaurants. The chicken tikka masala spicy is amazing!

Really really good, high quality, home-made style Indian food. Better quality ingredients (like chicken) than most Indian restaurants in SF. Reasonably priced as well: $10 for dinner plates.

Great value Indian. Great saag paneer and garlic naan. Chicken tikka masala was also solid. Ordered 6/10 spicy and it was mild. Riesling was a little sweet but tasty.

THERE is Indian food in NOPA! Who knew?! Very attentive and helpful service. By the time we we left (8:30) the place was filled. The food was very good. Can't believe I'd never been in before!

Delicious Indian food - but heed their warnings about their spice scale - we ordered a "medium" (what I usually request at Indian restaurants) and it was unbearably spicy. 😳

Great affordable neighborhood spot. Get the chicken tikka masala, yellow daal, and naan. They bring pappadum as an appetizer with sweet and spicy chutneys.

A favorite regular spot and some of the best Indian food I’ve had in SF. The staff here are lovely and everything on the menu is good

Love the quick service and friendly vibe at this tiny place, and the food is delish. Just make sure to order "mild" unless you are ready for SERIOUS spice. Medium was way too much for me.

Yellow daal, saag paneer, and baingan bharta. Tandoori paneer is also great

Really good and authentic food. Amazing service as well! Beware of the spice levels. Medium spice is NOT medium.

I’m disappointed, everyone loves this place. Aloo gobi didn’t absorb flavors of the masala, pakora was flavorless, and veg biryani had sweet raita with it (didn’t compliment the rice). Bummer!

Awesome Indian place. If you ask for it spicy, they make it quite spicy (which is fantastic!). Great food across the menu.

Excellent hole in the wall Indian place, a little on the sweet side but the saag paneer is bangin'.

Less deathly spicy and more flavorful than past experiences. The Chicken Sagwala and Korma were big hits.

You know what? Chicken tiki masala is a totally predictable. And delicious. Medium spicy is enough to notice without feeling like you're trying to prove anything.
