Modern European Restaurant · Leopoldplatz · 17 tips and reviews
Tao Tao: Japan meets Noma meets Berlin. Best overall dining experience in Berlin right now. Small plates, more on the subtle flavor side of things. $$$$
Tao Tao: World class and really upped their game after the recent renovation. 3 Michelin stars absolutely justified. Very Classical fine dining with focus on strong and beautiful flavors. A delight. $$$$
French Restaurant · Graefekiez · 22 tips and reviews
Tao Tao: Incredible flavors. French with Asian influences. Nothing too crazy so also a safe bet for non-foodies. Upbeat, world class service without forced attitude. $$$$
Modern European Restaurant · Kreuzberg · 45 tips and reviews
Tao Tao: Fun, great food, excellent service (with a touch of Berliner Schnauze), genuinely Berlin. Locally sourced produce. The menu can be a bit hit or miss but usually great. $$$$
Austrian Restaurant · Kreuzberg · 25 tips and reviews
Tao Tao: Really stepped up their game since I last came here a year ago. Earthy flavours, clear philosophy (Austrian with a twist), excellent service, lots of memorable moments. $$$$
Tao Tao: $$ One of the best places to have dinner in Berlin right now. Focused food & wine menu (all natural wines), strong flavors, top notch service, great ambiance, very good value for money.
Tao Tao: Amazing value for money. Great vibe, fun staff. Get the shared "Dinner for friends" for 36 Euros: they'll keep bringing food until you collapse . $$
Tao Tao: Great vibe, modern food that doesn't lose its soul, living room style setting. A bit on the salty side but some of the dishes (e.g. cabbage) were truly spectacular. $$$
Tao Tao: $$$$ Great sake selection, some dishes were outstanding, ultimately limited by the quality of products you can get in Germany, but definitely one of the top choices for Japanese food in Germany
Große Hamburger Str. 32 (Krausnickstr.), Berlin, Berlin
Modern European Restaurant · Mitte · 5 tips and reviews
Tao Tao: The 2018 renovation turned this place into a more traditional Michelin-star-type of restaurant. Lots a bit of its old rustic charme but food is excellent. $$$$
French Restaurant · Helmholtzkiez · 9 tips and reviews
Tao Tao: $$$ Fair price for a really strong tasting menu. Better than some of the more expensive Michelin star places in Berlin. Cool "neighbourhood" atmosphere.
Tao Tao: Fantastic setting, excellent cocktails, attentive service. Lots of fun. Food is strong but not the strongest in Berlin by far. Come for the overall experience. $$$
Tao Tao: Favorite Italian place in town and personal go-to place for family, investor or date dinners. Order from the daily menu. Nothing fancy or hip about this place but feels just right. $$
Tao Tao: My favorite ramen in Berlin (and I've tried them all), can't go wrong with either of the choice. Miso is a bit boring. Order Tan Tan (spicy) or Tonkotsu if it's your first time here. $
Friedrichstr. 158 (Unter den Linden), Berlin, Berlin
Restaurant · Unter den Linden · 57 tips and reviews
Tao Tao: Very cool decor with a super high ceiling (formerly a night club). Good energy, good food (but not spectacular). Modern posh, feels like Soho House or a W hotel. $$-$$$ depending on drinks.
Modern European Restaurant · Kreuzberg · 26 tips and reviews
Tao Tao: Michelin-level service. Food has improved considerably since they opened, a bit more fine dining now. Focus on ingredients and flavours. Very good upper-mid-level dinner. $$$
Tao Tao: $ Little delicacy grocery store with some tables. Honest dishes with strong execution and deep flavors. Real Greek food with good ingredients.
Mediterranean Restaurant · Kreuzberg · 17 tips and reviews
Tao Tao: Just opened in Q4 2018. Food is hands-down best Israeli cuisine you'll get in Berlin. Amazing flavors: modern and impactful with lots of soul. Unfortunately weird crowd and a bit overpriced. $$$
Vietnamese Restaurant · Mitte · 621 tips and reviews
Tao Tao: Touristy and arguably not authentic but still my favorite Vietnamese place. The daily options are usually great and make sure to order the spring rolls. Expect to queue. $
Greifenhagener Str. 31 (Kuglerstr.), Berlin, Berlin
Dim Sum Restaurant · Prenzlauer Berg · 177 tips and reviews
Tao Tao: Best dumplings in East Berlin, arguably all of Berlin. Get a mix of cooked and fried. Decor won't win any awards but it feels authentic. Ask for a Jian Bing if they have it. $
Tao Tao: Food not as good and creative as it used to be but still a great location with a fun vibe and very solid, modern cuisine. $$-$$$ depending on how much you drink.
Chinese Restaurant · Schöneberg · 35 tips and reviews
Tao Tao: Strong vegetarian Chinese food. Authentic flavours, excellent value. Fried lotus and eggplant dishes were great. Order small portions so you can try more of the dishes. $$
Tao Tao: Excellent fusion place. Much better than its (slightly cheaper) sibling Transit. Not cheap but worth it. Good vibe, slightly on the posher end of things but not stiff. $$-$$$
Tao Tao: Posh and popular for a reason. Banker feeling but still the best steak in Berlin for me. Get the chateaubriand if you don't mind spending some money. $$$
Japanese Restaurant · Helmholtzkiez · 144 tips and reviews
Tao Tao: Lovely restaurant run by real Japanese people. Fantastic staff. Specials and small dishes are great. Rolls are nothing special. Just go for the daily specials and small dishes like tempura, etc. $$
Cantonese Restaurant · Kreuzberg · 108 tips and reviews
Tao Tao: Very fun location. Don't expect hyper authentic Chinese food but it's all solid with interesting takes on classics. Prices are moderately high for Berlin standards but not outrageous. Fun in a group.
Doner Restaurant · Viktoriakiez · 589 tips and reviews
Tao Tao: As good as its reputation, secret is the bread and sauce I find. You can probably get 95% of its quality from other places. Suggest going very late at night so you don't have to wait 30min.
Chinese Restaurant · Fehrbelliner Platz · 31 tips and reviews
Tao Tao: Chinese food isn't the very best in Berlin (but in the top 10), but they pair it with absolutely amazing Mosel wines. Ambiance also great. Great place.
