Food Offering

While you are more than welcome to enjoy your own food in our picnic area around Shadow Lake, we would ask that no outside food be brought into the Tasting Room or on the Tasting Room Deck. Instead we invite you to sample some of our delicious food offerings. All week long we have local cheese and charcuterie plates for purchase, and on the weekends we feature a delicious selection of menu items created by the Wine Kitchen. These dishes are available in limited quantity, so order early or pre-order by following the links below or by contacting us at 703.771.7100

#socialsecret White 2012

From our flagship lineup, this is a blend of two vineyards in the Monticello AVA. The first #SocialSecret White we have produced and it is a stunner. Like the #SocialSecret Red, this is a blend of our favorite fruit coming from the Monticello AVA and in this case two vineyards - Carter Mountain Chardonnay and Gordonsville Rkatsiteli.

Chardonnay 2013

Super balanced Chardonnay, classic Tarara fruit, nice minerality, and subtle oak finish.

2015 Bethany Ridge White

This is a new single vineyard designation for Tarara and one we are extremely excited about. The fruit is concentrated and exotic with loads of papaya, persimmon and blood orange notes. The palate is caressing and seamless.

Viognier 2015

Our first varietal Viognier in a few years, and it is awesome. 100% unoaked allowing for simple pure fruit and a great expression of 2015.

2015 Hill Block Young Vines

Like the name says, this is from the young plantings of vines that we've planted in the last three years in our Hill Block in Nevaeh vineyard. A fresh and exciting blend of 80% Viognier and 20% Petit Manseng.

2014 Nevaeh White

Our flagship white from our estate Nevaeh Vineyard. Ripe and concentrated character, fresh with mineral tones from lying on high portions of limestone. An abundantly ripe wine with perfectly balanced acidity holding it together and giving 4-7 years ageability.

Dark crimson with huge aromatics, ranging from massively ripe fruit like fig, to savory herbal and meaty tones, to the dominant cassis & blackberry notes. The palate is refined but powerful, with youthful but harmonious tannins balanced with a great streak of acidity holding all the fruit together along with a nice smoky undertone.

Nevaeh Red 2014

A lovely complex blend of plum fruit meeting red and black berry notes combined with pencil lead and meaty tones. This is all about showing the classic Nevaeh blend and never overpowering the minerality and depth of some of the older vines Merlot and Cabernet Franc on the Hill block.

Cabernet Franc 2014

More refined than the 2010, a bit bigger than the 2012, and more complete than the 2013 – the 2014 Cabernet Franc is perhaps our favorite to date. Varietally correct, long finish, touch of spice, great big body, and lovely fruit

Nevaeh Red 2013

Our flagship single vineyard red blend, from a year in which the yield was minimal, yet incredible. Made entirely from estate grown grapes from Nevaeh Vineyard. A Loudoun County classic.

Late Harvest Petit Manseng 2010

Rich and oily dessert wine with just enough sweetness but impeccably balanced. Since the day our winemaker Jordan Harris arrived here from the Icewine capital of the world he has been asked if he will make a dessert wine. Here is his first go and it is an unconventional and over the top killer.

Killer Cluster

What a Killer Cluster!!! Take it however you want. When hit with a multitude of different weather events, a short crop all over our fine state, wildly increasing demand and press, and knowing that new plantings would take years we could only say one thing. Some was good news, some not so much but still: What a Killer Cluster! Our only option was to find new sources, so that's what we did. We set out to find the best grapes we could from Walla Walla, Horse Heaven Hills and Columbia Valley. When the grapes arrived, we could only say one thing: What a Killer Cluster.

Muscat 2013

A just off-dry version showing what this grape can do when taken seriously. Hugely aromatic. Washington State grown fruit made here in Virginia - These Muscat grapes from Columbia Valley were selected because with all the rage about Muscat these days we felt like playing. We wanted to put our own spin on the variety and since we don't grow it this was our chance. This is not what is thought of as Moscato. Dry, floral, wildly aromatic wine with delicate acidity and fresh character.
