- The lamb loaf is beautiful. Potato skins are great as a discussion style snack. Good wine selection. Great cocktails. Live music and wonderful wine cave bar downstairs. Lovely local gem.
- Gé .April 11, 2015Great food, great selection of wines and good atmosphere in the bar downstairs. Staff is friendly and service fast. An expat nest. Very loud - not great for a date - you won't have a voice afterwards
- Love the Surry Hills hipster and European vibe. Food is fresh and lovely. Service is laid back. Good small selection of vino. The building is restored from the old, so very authentically European. Yum
- Deakin BellMay 26, 2013Great night out at The Commons. Sat by the fire on a cold Sunday night and found complete bliss. Lots of mains for $20 and great waiter. Gave us a tour and quick history of building. Will be back soon

- Filipe CardeiraApril 5, 2013I always order a Caipirinha althought they never taste as good as back home. Nevertheless they are not bad in here: and the bartender was pretty good at following my suggestions
- Emma MoroneyMay 3, 2010Replaces The Pond and has done the previous venue proud. Great wine list, tasty antipasto & bigger meals if yr so inclined. Try the rosé with proscuitto and melon, always in a winner in my book.
- Gé .March 12, 2010The wagyu beef carpaccio is really nice and a good portion ($18) interesting choice of sweets (frozen moscato grapes!)The place is really really REALLY noisy though, forget it for a romantic dinner!!!
- Gina Grace KnightJune 22, 2012Delicious fresh hight quality food. Beautiful interiors and garden courtyard. Delicious coffee and wine.
- Plunder the cocktail list. The craftsmanship is superb, and the bartenders well versed in their dark arts.
- Hamish LockieApril 15, 2013Good food, relaxed atmosphere. The kind of place you would happily park up for a few hours.
- Prue-ellen ThomasJune 11, 2011Great little bar with friendly staff. Menu great for bar snacks but not so sure about having a full meal here yet ...
- Jenny LNovember 12, 2010Great place to sit in the garden to have a glass of wine and some nibbles. They do sandwiches for lunches too.
- Stephen MokMarch 22, 2013Food is delicious, drinks are good. But service is extremely patchy – one or two friendly staff, others atrociously condescending or bitchy.
- Craig HennessyAugust 8, 2012Tuesday is 'cheap' night, all mains are $20 and nice house wine $5, open fire ... lovely :)
- Katrina WongJuly 22, 2010Duck pate + trout with almond butter + open fire + jazz in the basement on a Thursday night. All just too good.
- Al WyattDecember 19, 2015Food is great, but don't stay too long the staff just kinda forget you're there.

- TimeOut SydneyJuly 15, 2010Try the crisp, boutique Whale Ale - a Belgian style witbier from Port Stephens brewery Murrays. Read more
- Miss BOctober 28, 2011Amazing fillet mingion, shitty garfish. Unknowledgeable staff- garfish DOES have bones!!! Nice wine. Service was pretty terrible. Would not come back.
- Jeremiah YaoenbergMarch 3, 2011Nothing bad can really be said aside from average bar service and the fact that the outdoor area has to be vacated at 10.30. Silly neighbours.
- Andrew BrennanSeptember 11, 2010Idiot waitress told us to be quiet and they sold out of the signature dish
- Shane TaitJuly 10, 2011Staff very very rude and totally unhelpful.... Stay away and dont waste your time here ..... There are plenty of better places in the area.... Most overrated.
