- Steve MmmNovember 10, 2018Cosy pub on the common, perfect after an autumn walk. High quality food with a delicious wine list. Perfect Sunday venue!
- Ignore the tip here about unlimited veg with Sunday roasts - that's a load of nonsense! Beautiful pub, great real ales & the roast pork was delicious - however seriously small veg & potato portions!
- Newly refurbed. Gastro feel but in a good way. Interesting food menu and strong rotating beer and cider selection with emphasis on local brewed beers. Worth a visit.
- David CharltonJanuary 18, 2015Really good vibe in this Blackheath pub. Goes well with the tasty food, great selection of ales and friendly service.
- Reginald WolfeApril 12, 2013Pub changed hands a few months ago and has had a complete change of direction: I work there now! Come in and see us for a crackin' selection of rotating beers & lagers, resturant quality food & wine!
- Excellent range of cask and keg beers. The food is expensive, but worth it. Difficult to believe it's a Greene King pub.
- Selena ChanJanuary 29, 2012The pub itself is nice with a good atomsphere. Arrive early for the roast, customer service and menu options deplete as the day goes on.
- Gabe X J SherlikerJuly 10, 2013Wonderful refurb and new range of beers. Leather armchairs very comfy; new menu also updated - confit chicken great, and selection on cheese board!
- This newly reopened pub is under the Capital Pub Company now, and it shows. The new place shows great promise. Well inviting and well done to the refurb.
- Kirk BaillieJanuary 3, 2019Don’t expect hot food or easy to access gluten free menu. Will refuse to tell you what’s gluten free and then serve you something they aren’t sure is gluten free even if ordered off gluten free menu.
- LondonistApril 7, 2011Less busy than the rammed Princess of Wales, probably because of no outside seating, but a table by the windows gives a lovely view of the Heath. Ales on tap, too.
- Dan BrownApril 1, 2013Good selection of beer, clean toilets, good decor, slightly pricey but good food, and they let dogs in.
- Asli YJuly 30, 2017I really wanted to like this place as it was suggested by a friend with a good taste. Unfortunately, nothing outstanding in ambiance and the squid was tasteless and rubbery in texture.
- Sunday night pub quiz ... its a must. Top teams XYZ and Fizzy are regulars.
- Less busy (and so less time to wait) on weekdays compared to previous weekend visits
- Rune AndersenMay 11, 2010Excellent place for locals, a good place to get away from the out-of-towners in the weekend. Great ale selection too.
- Emilio BielsaNovember 6, 2011The Sunday roasts include unlimited potatoes and vegetables but you have to mention it when you order the food.
- Food was just ok today. Bread & Butter pud was more like a lump of bread swimming in custard...Service not great either (waited 10 mins for glass of wine). Disappointing & off putting @HareandBillet
- Came back for a meal. Still inviting and well appointed. However, did not eat here because the kitchen REFUSES to cook the meat medium? Ugh. Shame on an otherwise attractive venue.
- Stuart CruickshankJuly 4, 2015Decidedly average Sunday roast. Small portion, rock solid potatoes and overcooked meat.
- Graeme GouldenJanuary 16, 2011Don't ever come here expecting to get what you ordered, served or treated well by the staff. In urgent need of new management. Such a shame as it's a great pub let down catastrophically by the staff.
- Has been closed recently, looking forward to it re-opening!
- Matt HayesJanuary 12, 2014Had the Blue Cheese Spinich Risotto. Too much rice. Hardly any spinich no salad or garnish. Not worth £12!!!
- MellinsaysJanuary 16, 2011Terrible service. Never have the food stated on the menu. Overall cute pub who needs nicer staff and new management.
- Avoid the Sunday Lunch, no matter what you may be told, it's not worth it! There are far better places nearby with much better food!
