The scotch egg is great. So is the burger. But the deep fried mars bar is truly what will make the bad Tinder date worth it.

The fish supper, burger and vegetarian curry are all great! Save space for the sticky toffee pudding - and a Scotch or Scottish beer, of course.

Dark and cozy, this is a great cold weather spot. The blood sausage and scallops were amazing. Every Wednesday they host a fry--don't forget to add your two cents to the deep fried suggestion box.

I’m Scottish and it’s the only place I can get haggis without the hassle of making it myself. Therefore the Haven is forever in my heart.

It's not light, but it can be delicious, even the legendary haggis and neeps, somewhat Americanized here. And it works equally well as bar snacks or a three-course gastropub special. Read more
