    鉾頭に三日月をつけているのでこの名で呼ばれています。装飾が細部にいたるまで素晴らしく、動く美術館と讃えられています。文化文政（江戸後期）の美術爛熟期に工芸装飾の充実に力を注ぎ、当代随一の名工の力を得た飾金具類は圧巻です。また、左甚五郎作と伝えられる彫刻、円山応挙の屋根裏絵画、天井の源氏五十四帖扇面散図などその華麗さ豪華さは山鉾の中でも屈指のものです。 Read more

    粽のほかに団扇や手拭いなど何かひとつでも購入すれば鉾の参拝が可能。展示や鉾内の写真撮影は禁止されてます。

    鉾頭の金の三日月は直径が４０センチもあるそうです。鉾頭に三日月を付けているのが月鉾の名の由縁です。
