There are 2 (two) ticket offices here, one north, and one south. So don't get worried if the first one you go to is closed. Just walk to the other one.
Two metro lines can get you to 苏州火车站。 check-in can be done on north and south sides of the station. Best come early as it tends to be crowded all the time. Safe trip.
There's a manned ticketbooth for foreigners which you can immediately see from the signage.. But queued by locals. Anyway, never mind.. he/she can't speak English..
To get tickets, go to the northticket offices at the top. The signs inside the station are misleading, so when you cross through the middle of the station and see the outdoor escalator...take it!!
Conveniently located in Suzhou, easy to get to Xiangcheng and Gusu district. The station is medium-sized, bigger than Suzhou North. Has a McDonalds, KFC, and some noodle restaurants.
Nowadays, you don’t need to print the ticket (for online purchase). Just show your passport in the manual entrance to get to the train. At least you should know your coach and seat number.
