    出町橋の西詰にこの石碑は建っています。小浜から京都へ通じる若狭街道、別名『鯖街道』。若狭湾でとれた海産物が運ばれてきた京都の終着点。特に塩で〆た鯖が多かったためこのような別名が付いたのだそう。石碑を眺めているだけで歴史を感じさせてくれます。
