This active FDNY firehouse has been featured in numerous TV shows and films, including Ghostbusters, Seinfeld and Hitch, and is one of the oldest in the city.
The exterior of this building played it's part in the Ghostbusters movie as their headquarters. As it is a active firehouse, the interior shots were shot in Los Angeles in a decommissioned firehouse.
Try going during the day when the firehouse is open. The firemen are very friendly and will show you around the station house and fill you in on some cool Ghostbusters stories. Read more
I think this building should be condemned. There's serious metal fatigue in all the load-bearing members, the wiring is substandard, and the neighborhood is like a demilitarized zone.
This is also known as ladder 8. Inside you'll see the ghostbusters sign that was given to them as well as newspaper articles and photos. Good guys work here!
