One of the most beautiful and peaceful places in London. Often a few people dotted around drinking, but great to reflect on the past and get away from the hustle and bustle.

A gorgeous asset of north London, Abney Park serves both the community as a place to relax and nature as a place to flourish. Keep an eye out for signs telling you about the amazing veteran trees! 🌳

Very quiet, green area slap bang in the middle of Stoke Newington. Well worth a wander round.

If you're going to have a nice walk around here pick up a leaflet about the veteran trees and then you can follow the instructions and read the info on them all. Amazing back as far as 1890.

Abney Park in Stoke Newington, one of the ‘magnificent seven’ garden cemeteries of London, is a woodland memorial park and Local Nature Reserve, managed by the Abney Park Trust. Stunning.

17 October: Created to alleviate overcrowding in Central London graveyards, it covers 32 acres and is surrounded by fairly built-up areas. There's a real feeling of wilderness in sme parts.

Come along on a Sunday afternoon to listen to stories and songs in the disused chapel right bang in the centre of the park. 2-4pm during summer!

You won't believe how beautiful and overgrown it all is. Take a picnic and feed the squirells.

The whistling you hear a bit before sunset is alert that the park is closing soon.
