No luxury shops but plenty of food. Starbucks coming up soon. But for now, just local / Chinese food. Big and cleanairport. Get the luggage trollies with entertainment screens to pass time.
Can't get enough of those flower petal cakes! No need to sweat if you miss the main cake store, every other shop in the terminal will be selling the same thing!
Excellent, modern airport. I'm always happy to fly out of here. Also, the China Eastern lounge is pretty nice: large and open with lots of food, snacks, and drinks to choose from.
You can now take the subway from the east bus station. Takes about 30 minutes. 5rmb. When all the subway lines open it'll be much more convenient to get around KMG!
Every single time I’m here, I hear announcements calling out names or urging individuals to board. Is this airport easy to get lost in, or are people here just accustomed to being not very punctual?
If you have international transfer simply follow signs on the arrival floor. Then use the internal lift to head to third floor of departure check-ins and security. No@need to exit on arrival floor.
The customs for is filled with people and the efficieny is rather low, which will take up to nearly 1 hr. free wifi. cold in the evening, don't forget a blanket if you plan to stay late at night.
You can get free wifi only if you have a chinese mobile, you will receive a username & password via a text message and than use it to log in on the airport network.
View from the airport in Kunming. Few months in action now, and starting to get there...all was working...so far. Flight delayed of course, but that's China
It wasn’t that the airport was great, but the airportstaff were helpful, WiFi was decent, and the gates had plenty of comfy seating areas. For catching a red eye, not too bad.
Massive airport. The international terminal is limited on food options, and I got food poisoning from the noodle joint. Note that those yellow cans are tea - I was convinced it was beer...
They should install hand washer in the toilet, specially for Muslims. Still the airport is huge. Need some kind of new vehicle to move around the airport.
huge & largely underused. free wifi, but w/o chinese mobile number can't get on. very overpriced food & drink, best deal is vending machines! blah. bad place to get caught in a long delay.
This is a big airport. Make sure on your way back you add extra time for getting to your gate. Also security process is pretty bad and creates long lines.
By the way, if you can go to VIP LOUNGE of SkyTeam you will realize is not good enough for international flyers!!! It's V16 lounge...horrible for such international airport
No lounges inside, just benches to spend the night, and the airport is cold. Numerous hotel reps are cornering potential customers right at the arrivals like vultures.
