The place is well connected.Get less frequent local leaving for NERAL,get toy train of share taxi.Best time would be after say 20 days of rain till Feb end.Carry cash as no/may be few ATMs.

Avoid driving up the hill. Theclimb is very steep beyond a point. You can hire a driver for 200-300 rupees. I think it is better to take the train after october.

You can get cabs from Neral station. The approach to the station is a narrow alley.
