Shoot the surreal landscape hiking along the river at Smith Rock State Park. Afterward, kick your feet up on the wooden porch at Juniper Junction with one of their famous huckleberry ice cream cones.

I can highly recommend taking the river trail if you're not that experienced with hiking.

Second to none sport climbing. Thousands and thousands of bolted routes in the difficulty sweet spot. This is world class rock.

Don't let the name fool you, Misery Ridge is incredibly memorable. If you like to climb, grab three friends and guide hire a local guide for the day.

One of my favorite parks. Misery Ridge isn't as bad a hike as it sounds, but make sure you have plenty of water and sunscreen.

Amazing hikes. Very accessible. Bring cash, or pay via card at the volunteer tent.

Beautiful views! Parking was way more of a hassle than I had anticipated, but if you get there early enough then it should be okay.

Scenic mountains, but we were not able to see or hike much on a very hot day. $5 day parking fee.

Take a hike around and watch all the climbers, or take a somewhat strenuous hike to the top for gorgeous views

The hard way is still pretty easy, a bit of a climb but mostly switchbacks.

According to one new Oregonian, "This was my first site upon moving to Bend. The towering red rock walls with the winding river below made me realize I was finally home!"
