Yes it's a chain but a good one. Very friendly staff, cosy but large rooms, good quality breakfast and a generous loyalty membership scheme when you sign up to bonuses.
A lovely central hotel. The lobby area is impressive and smells lovely. The smell comes up from the fab spa downstairs. Go over the street to the Brewdog bar for a really great craft beer.
The hotel was close to all the attractions I wanted Theatres Covent Gardens Oxford Street Leicester Square Tube Station, The staff were really friendly and extremely helpful nothing to much trouble. R
Welcoming book in - free wi-fi, quiet room with spotless bathroom and instant air con. Great value for money. Comfy bed with ample pillows - bottled water in the rooms. Just a really welcome touch.
NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL !! Cons: Overrated & Expensive .. Very small rooms & not well designed .. Old & cheep furniture !! Pros: Perfect location & breathtaking city view .. Friendly & helpful staff ..
If you go from Manchester airport, take the train to Manchester Piccadilly Station, and then take the free Metroshuttle bus no. 3. There is a bus stop just in front of the hotel.
The best hotel in town. Located almost in the city center. Also near to Central Conference area. Concierge services is to the point and excellant. Opus restaurant & bar is a nice place for socialise.
Drink in the bar. Fantastic service. And for something extra special ask for Chris to make your cocktails. He can recomend anything perfectly suited to the individual.
Go for a cocktail in the hotel bar & remember this was the venue of an infamous gig by Sex Pistols, watched by members of Buzzcocks, Peter Hook and Bernard Sumner, The Fall, Morrissey & Mick Hucknall

The hotel was the Free Trade Hall, built on the site of the Peterloo Massacre in 1819, when cavalry charged a crowd of 60,000 demanding reform of parliamentary representation.
Opus restaurant must rate as one of the countries finest. The scallops with chorizo on cockleschowder is the stuff of legend. Accompanied with a bottle of 2001 Pouligny Montrachet - heaven
Mediocre hotel. They forgot to put the extra bed in the room though I reminded during check-in. None of the plugs were working when we checked in and so on ...
