A great relaxing place to hang out! The area is quite large and diverse: there's a pond for casual fishing, a botanical gardens indoors and out, a playground for kids, benches, and a fountain!

Although the park was originally named Central Park, in 1912 the park was renamed after the first secretary of the Davenport Park Board of Commissioners, A.W. Vander Veer.

This park was originally named Central Park because it was designed as a scale model of Central Park in New York.
