Peking Duck Restaurant · Dōng sì shítiáo · 124 tips and reviews
Ji: Get the Beijing duck (obviously!). Make sure u try dipping the duck skin in sugar, adds an interesting taste and texture compared to the duck I've had in London

Ice Cream Parlor · Duomo · 271 tips and reviews
Ji: Pay at the till first when you decide how many scoops you want. You have time to decide gelato flavors while you wait your turn. The wait for coffees is usually shorter as this is a sseperatearea
Ji: Neither the menu nor the makkeolli list is in English but the service is warm and there is a helpful "This week's best" list on a chalkboard. Great little bar, very local, off the beaten track.

Ji: The chestnut bingsoo was very good. I had to remove some of the red bean and crispy dates topping as it was too sweet; otherwise delicious. Very large serving, early shared between two.
Mediterranean Restaurant · Knightsbridge and Belgravia · 2 tips and reviews
Ji: Try the chargrilled sliced steak entrecôte with chilied broccoli. It was outstanding as was the roasted marrow starter. Excellent food, menu and service, five stars!

Ji: Superb menu for paleo eaters. The roasted marrow was excellent as was the john dory from the specials. There are at least 3 or 4 other dishes I want to try
Peking Duck Restaurant · Dōng sì shítiáo · 124 tips and reviews
V: Peking Duck is great. You need to order a plate of condiments per person. Order includes a soup and dessert after the duck. English isn't great but if you look lost, they'll show you what to do.
V: Very strong coffees and they have iced coffee as well as iced americanos (most other places only have the latter). Good people watching and outdoor space.
Chinese Restaurant · Dōngchéng qū · 8 tips and reviews
V: Only option is the 300 yuan tasting menu (with bottomless wine or beer!). Great value for money and delicious. Very hard to find as it is in the Orchid Hotel which is set back from the alley.
V: Hard to find as is set back from the alley. Opposite Shi's Dumplings, but keep a Chinese address and ask around until you find it. House #65. Restaurant upstairs (Black Sesame Kitchen) is amazing.
V: Note that the locals don't know it as Run De Li market, but will recognize it by the name of the surrounding hutongs. Fun, but take a Chinese speaking guide.
V: The makgeolli sampler is a great way to taste the 5 best selling makgeolli here. If you ask nicely, the waitress might let you swap some out in your second sampler order.
V: Great Korean BBQ place. Connected to a butcher, so your meats from the butcher and then take them to your table. Service is a bit spotty, but the food can't be beat.
Italian Restaurant · Knightsbridge and Belgravia · 214 tips and reviews
V: Extensive menu, famous for their lobster spaghetti which is very good. Large portions but still not great value for menu. Quite lively, crowded and a little hectic.
V: Nice tasting menu that is very artistically delivered. Intimate with private rooms. Useful to go with a Korean-speaker to understand the artistry and meaning behind the dishes.
Sushi Restaurant · City of Westminster · 263 tips and reviews
V: Decor is quite cool, with dim lighting, irregular wooden tables and comfortable bench seating. All of the skewers (from starters to desserts) were excellent. Service was fast and friendly.

Pastry Shop · Kensington and Chelsea · 178 tips and reviews
Ji: Yes the macarons are famous but actually the pain perdu and rose milkshake are my top recommendations. The pain perdu is a light and fluffy brioche French toast. Unmissably delicious
Mexican Restaurant · Mayfair · 31 tips and reviews
Ji: Turns into a bar/club at around 10 or so but there isn't much seating at the bar come late if coming just for drinks. Friendly staff and great cocktails.

Indian Restaurant · Greenwich Village · 140 tips and reviews
Ji: Try one of each Kati roll, they are all pretty good. My fave is the spicy potato. Continue the Indian street snack experience across the street at thelewala for bhel puri.
Dessert Shop · East Village · 711 tips and reviews
Ji: Cereal milk ice cream and corn cookie are the best things on the menu- hands down. Crack pie is great but after a few bites it is too sweet to finish.
American Restaurant · Meatpacking District · 154 tips and reviews
Ji: Everything on the menu was pretty great but you must leave room for pie. We had the cherry pie, it was amazing. Book ahead or expect a long wait on weekends
V: If you're flying a OneWorld airline like British Airways, you can use the Cathay lounge at E20. It is much better. (But pick up a red bean bun before you go.)
V: For security lines, use 9, 10, 13 or 14 as they are shortest behind the barrier (scanner is closest to the people checking your passprts). Avoid 8 and 12 - always long and slow behind the barrier.
Korean Restaurant · Kensington and Chelsea · 5 tips and reviews
V: Probably most authentic Korean in central London (available for delivery via Deliveroo). Portions small but worth it. Outside of BBQ, kimchi soup is excellent. Leave room for hotteok for dessert
Brazilian Restaurant · Santa Teresa · 527 tips and reviews
V: Big range of biodynamic and natural Brazilian wines. All from small producers and unfamiliar, but luckily knowledgeable and enthusiastic English-speaking sommelier on hand for help.
Brazilian Restaurant · Santa Teresa · 527 tips and reviews
V: If you're going to get a bread basket, go all in: get the cheesy breads with the sausages. They are warm and moist cheesy bread balls stuffed with mini sausages. Really good.
V: Gorgonzola. Period. We tried every flavor and doubled and then tripled down on this. Not too sweet, very creamy, and unexpected. Best gelato ever. (Their many dark chocolate ones also very good.)
V: Riverside seating. Tom yum soups are unusual (lots of dill) but excellent. Deep fried fish in jungle curry also excellent. As usual, the English menu is not the full menu, so don't limit yourself.
V: A great meal. Order the longest tasting menu they will give you (don't worry; the pacing is fast and portions are not too big). And every cocktail is unique and delicious. We had every single one.
Night Club · Kensington and Chelsea · 5 tips and reviews
Ji: Excellent cocktails with excellent service. I always have a great night out here and stay till the lights come up. Come for dinner also for excellent Japanese food.
Thai Restaurant · เสาชิงช้า · 142 tips and reviews
Ji: Great air conditioning and clean bathrooms so a nice place to stop during the day. As for food, the crab omelette is delicious and the chicken wings are crispy and yummy.
Noodle Restaurant · ป้อมปราบศัตรูพ่าย · 440 tips and reviews
Ji: Ordered both superb and standard Pad Thai. Both are delicious but the superb was sweeter and not as tasty as the standard. Standard also came with tofu and scrambled eggs bits so in my opinion better.
Ji: If you finish your noodles (though I can only just manage the one bowl), you can ask for free “refills” of broth and noodles. For extra noodles, you ask for “sa-li” (사리) or “sa-ri.”
