- HISTORYApril 19, 2010This was the home of Joel Chandler Harris, author of Uncle Remus stories, from 1881 until 1908. The museum opened in 1913, Harris' room is almost completely untouched to this day aside from cleaning.

- Oakland CemeteryDecember 12, 2010Disney's Song of the South had its world premiere at the Fox Theatre in 1946. Joel's son Julian (& his wife Julia), pulitzer prize winning journalists, reside in the Rawson mausoleum at Oakland. Read more
