Great & thorough collection. I could've spent a day in there. Suprisingly have an item of Vietnam on the South East Asia department, which is the first time I ever saw one. Vast collection of China.

You don't need a museum ticket to eat here and the canteen-style cafe is tasty and affordable. Just ask for a sticker at the desk. That said, check out the collection at least once, it's fantastic!

I love that they offer a free day each month. With that said, their rotating featured collections are worth paying for. I like the miniatures also the pottery is beautiful.

This is the most fully comprehensive museum I've been to, exhibiting art from China, Japan, Korea, and Southeast Asia. Set aside over 2 hours if you want to see everything.

Good shows, building and architecture but weak cafe offering (no hot drinks) and the surrounding neighborhood continues to be uncomfortable. Get it together, city of SF!

Interactive aspects are cool and rare for Asian Art Museums which typically use traditional methods to feature ancient art. Free community days are awesome since adult admission is usually $25 each.
