- ChrissySeptember 12, 2013Low maintenance- a reprieve from scenesters, almost like we were in the LES! ;) Go figure! Liked the food. Staff are great & the carnitas were comfort food. Real people, real neighborhood stuff, Yay.
- Leon Alv AlvDecember 6, 2011margaritas, food, is soooo good, I love it is super mexican, but beware there is to much people always trying to get in, so try to make it before the meals star so you won't have to wait.
- Madison BackJune 15, 2016The revamp of this LES favorite is awesome. Management / staff are so friendly, food is delicious, and great happy hour specials.
- Harumi UNovember 29, 2014Re established recently. The concept went from Mexican to more Latin American place. The bartender Courtney was very nice. If you are here, sit by the bar and enjoy!
- Ben GaspariniMarch 8, 2017You can just stop by to dance and grab some drinks. Small venue but works with a group of ten or less.
- Brad WeisharMarch 19, 2012Hat restaurant is the epitome of deliciousness. Margs, great. Food, affordable. Ambiance, very chill. Salsa, hot (temp wise). Come and enjoy
- Village VoiceAugust 15, 2014Margaritas, available by the pitcher, are popular here, as are the Mexican beers and tequila from the bar. Read more
- Frozen mojitos are great. The owner and staff are also super friendly and awesome.
- Lauren SmithNovember 15, 2015Ps - get the poached eggs with salmon hash and don't forget the homemade hot sauces!
- Lauren SmithNovember 15, 2015Should have checked the rating before arriving. Service was friendly but egg fajitas (which sounded amazing) were a disappointment - tiny condiment size portions of cheese, peppers & onions, etc
- Marion PAugust 5, 2016Not too crowdy on a Thursday night. Loved the smoked salmon and goat cheese quesadilla
- Great food. Great drinks. Wonderful service. Cash only. Come often.
- L. T.August 25, 2015Food was delicious and they have a very interesting menu, but I got sick afterward...
- pregame here with a few pitchers of margaritas-- $28 for regular, $35 for flavored
- Go in September, when it's filled with college freshmen eager to warp their innocence.

- Best service on Erf. Yes, I said it: Erf. Plus Margaritas to go
- Ed JohnsonMay 20, 2018Cuba libre was good. Super loud place. Expensive drinks. Expensive place. Food was average. Very small. Odd vibe at times.
- I hate to say it but SVA ruined this place. A table of 9 students and 3 meals on the table - come on guys, really? The noise decibel level is over the top. But the service is GREAT!
- Matt ValerioJune 13, 2013Skip! My water smelled like a mildewy sponge so I sent it back. The salsa tasted funky, and the food in general was just bad. Even the rice tasted like it had been cooked with the mildew sponge water.
- Amanda WuDecember 28, 2009Get the quesadilla - it's affordable and filling and comes with sides of rice and beans.
- Evan CisnerosOctober 27, 2011Let's be honest, this place is pumping on Friday/Saturday considering they don't ID.
- Can MisirliogluNovember 5, 2011No words can describe the food here. It's borderline scam to call this a restaurant.
- Nadia KazmiJune 8, 2012This place is awful but it will do in a pinch for a cheap margarita. Just stay far away from the terrible baby cockroach ridden food! Salsa and guacamole are Guinness book horrible.
- Stella DancerellaAugust 9, 2011Plus points: service, no hassle if you forget your ID, full bar. Minus points: food sucks and cocktails are just OK.
- Daniela CorrenteAugust 24, 2010Great service, bad food. The food doesn't taste Mexican at all, there are way better Mexican places around. I ordered the enchilada and don't recommend it
- Brian Van NieuwenhovenApril 14, 2009have the margaritas b/c you're a dirty Lower East Sider who has margaritas at The Hat.
