Best Chinese food in SF!! Let Chef Fang order for you - it's insanely good. If you're a menu orderer though, I recommend the peking buns, onion cake, short ribs, pea shoot salad, & white fish

My favorite Chinese spot in SF! The must try's are the Nanking Sesame Chicken, Mongolian Beef Tower and the House Fried Rice. If you're in a large group, have the chef choose your meal.

Man this place is the gem! It turned out Chef Fang is also from Shanghai and he just decided to order everything for us. Everything was incredible and creatively tasty! Strongly recommend this place!

great vegetarian options - the bok choy starter and the housemade noodles are a great pair. and if you're staying at the W, you won't even have to cross the street to come here!

Best Chinese food in the area. Try the chef selection option if you're a big group. They bring you food based on the chef's choice ( they note your diet preferences and allergies). It's delicious!

It felt strange when the owner took out a menu from our hands, and told to forget about it, he is a chef. I guess it seemed charming to other people, but we knew exactly what we wanted. Food was great

White River Fish Soup is exceptional - a great comfort soup to start a meal. The short ribs has amazing melt in your mouth texture. It's nice to have Peter order for you. Just sit there & enjoy!

get the omakase. I do it every time and I have yet to be disappointed by what they bring out. they also take suggestions so give them your preferences!

The food is always great, and I’ve been here many times. But unfortunately there was a small live caterpillar crawling on our bok choy the last time we went.. so sad coz I really love this place

Yes. Agree. Let the owner decide what u should eat. Amazing, creative dishes. Portobello mushrooms w tarragon & barley so unexpected. The short ribs, divine. I even liked the apples in the prawn dish!

Chef Peter Fang asked, "Do you know what you'll be having tonight?" I replied back with, "we'll have whatever you recommend!" His eye lit up and he took our menus away. The best 10-course dinner ever!

Excelent restaurant! The pork was good and I tried some shrimps with apple with a sweet sauce, I don’t remember the name.

Impressed with the presentation, service and food. The picture I have here speaks for itself. I had a rice with beef dish and duck in a bun.

Second visit, the chef recognized us. Said not to worry about ordering, he would take care of us. He sent out delicious buns, veggie dumplings, pumpkin soup and the most tender, flavorful beef dish <3

If you want a treat that isn't on the menu, ask your waiter for their apple & chicken plate. The apples are fried and salted, while the chicken has a light honey mustard to it. It's so delicious!

If it's your first time here and Peter asks if he should take care of your culinary quest, say yes. You won't be disappointed. And it's not too pricey either.

Quite a few dishes seem to be deep fried. Peter ordered short ribs and fish with tofu for us, which were decent choice and priced on the high side. I may return to try the dumplings.

Reviews just okay, but it was close to our hotel and we were tired. Great choice as it was delish, fresh and creative! Service was questionable at first but then they really pulled throug.HGo for it.

A little bit of a racket at dinner. "Order for you" turns into upgrading things you ask for to more expensive similar options without really giving you a choice. On the other hand, it's good food.

Delicious. Couldn't say what my favorite dishes are as I've never seen a menu. Don't be afraid and let the staff order for you. It's definitely some of the best Chinese food I've had in SF.

Egg rolls are surprisingly good, dumpings were avg but sauce was tasty. Bf short ribs were recommene, it was okk. Good flavor but its pretty much like salt and pepper fried beef stew cubes.

Get the salted pork belly with pumpkin over rice. Red pepper chili flakes gives it a slight kick. Deliciousness for under $10 during lunch time.

For large parties, request to be seated at the Tibetan room. Dignitaries usually accommodate this area. Enjoy the private, wood-lined, opulent feel. For the claustiphobic, don't use the elevator!

Appetizers can come out after some of the entrees, so there's no way around their inability to bring everyone's food out at the same time.
