- Mo MaloneyJanuary 21, 2013The spinach, mushroom & feta crepe is awesome! It comes with a side of greens & carrots for $13. It's light yet filling & is great for any meal. The French onion soup is great too!
- Khy LaJuly 7, 2013The service is amazing, the staff is very warm and inviting. The French toast was crispy on the outside and perfectly soft on the inside. The strawberries were so fresh and sweet.
- UWS staple - it's open 24-hrs and it's NOT a diner! Good for late night dinner, they have a pared down menu after 11pm. Also, full bar and good espresso.Upvoted Oct 4
- Love love love the French Roast! Perfect for the “I don’t know what to do for dinner tonight” thing. The food is great, the atmosphere is calming and the bar is someplace special...
- Trae FMay 1, 2018Brunch here is delicious and reasonable. Love the cute decor and keep your eyes peeled for stars who like to dine here.
- Been here many times at night, lunch time, & early morning (it's open 24h). Food is nice, sans chi-chi, bistro like. Avoid early (7am): tables are always dirty (crumbs, sticky coffee spills, ...).
- Nick WestOctober 19, 2011Ok, so this place is NOT a coffee shop. It's a restaurant with a wonderful menu. A little pricey, but worth every penny. Get a bottle of wine with dinner, the atmosphere requires it.
- A staple in the neighborhood. Lots of outdoor seating in the summer for people watching. Brunch there is great but be prepared to wait.
- Christine PApril 19, 2013I absolutely adore this place. Amazing French toast, generous portions, crispy bacon, friendly and funny staff, heavy handed bartenders... perfect.
- French Roast now has happy hour at midnight . Weird, I know but who doesn't want a deal at that time of night. It's from midnight to 4am. Specials on wine, cocktails, and beer. So stop on by!
- Elichai FogerSeptember 26, 2013If you're coming for a late night meal you have to go with the steamed broccoli, french fries, chocolate croissant, and of course a poached egg.
- Best brunch place Ive been to so far been here at least 3 times and always a go to for brunch
- JillianAugust 31, 2014Pretty decent! My breakfast pizza was alright and the soy latte hit the spot. Good for lazy brunching & people watching.
- Khalil LaouaniMarch 23, 2013Thank god it's open 24/7!!!! No alcohol after 4am tho :( service is not bad but a little slow (or maybe I was just too hungry.) The steak sandwich and the strawberry crepe are delicious!
- Onur KardesNovember 4, 2018Great omelettes and french toast. Try omelette with goat cheese and smoked salmon!
- The late night Mecca of the Amsterdam bars. 24 hour croque Monsieur with French onion soup is the best late night!
- Cristina MaioOctober 24, 2012The best coffee cocktails in existence! (But not served before 12 during Sunday brunch.) And it's 24 hours! How perfect is that?!
- Kate GriggsJanuary 3, 2013Spinach gruyere crepes with home fries hit the spot. The French roast juice blend (cranberry, OJ, grapefruit, etc) was pretty good.
- Carina MartoneSeptember 17, 2018Possibly the best meal I’ve ever had - the pork chop special and the brownie coup.
- Mary GeorgeDecember 25, 2012Love the tables along 85th street - plus the service and the cafe au lait!
- A staple establishment for UWS brunch. Everything on the menu is amazing...be prepared to wait! Plenty of outdoor seating.
- George MaierOctober 27, 2016Late night coffee, beer, wine and sometimes a bit of a buzz on Sunday nights.
- Gene SmilgiewiczJuly 12, 2020Excellent Moules Frites and Salade Niçoise yesterday under an awning, good service.
- EJuly 9, 2017Ordered a sticky pecan bun. 15 min wait for the bun. Pastry is dry, with very little cinnamon or caramel, little of nuts. 10 minute wait for the check. Half an hour of my life I'm never getting back.
- We have new dinner items on the menu. Ask your service and he or she will be more then helpful to point them out to you. Great place for dinner.
- Leo LiuJuly 22, 2015I only tried the french toast and it was yummy! The wait staff seemed exhausted though so...
- Leigh SansoneSeptember 17, 2012Sept 17-30, '12 is "French restaurant week" -- great fixed priced lunches ($25) and dinner ($30).
- Jason WoodardJuly 17, 2015The service on weeknight evenings if slow which is a plus if you have time to kill, but less great if you have placed to be.
- Charles ModelMarch 8, 2014Late night service is crap! Nick takes sips during his shift and procrastinates to give the check. Nice guy but I expected way better attention than that bro!
- Jenny LeeAugust 22, 2013Good, simple breakfast, but prices are a little expensive. Go early for mellow vibe.
- Jaclyn LamOctober 30, 2014Quick dinner and good portions. I love french food so this is pretty biased lol
- Barbara GormanOctober 30, 2011Sunday brunches are crowded and disorganized but the dinners are great. Try the mac and cheese
- SamJune 10, 2013I know a thing or two about hospitality, trust me when I tell you...the service here is NOT good!!
- Shelby SiegFebruary 8, 2011It says coffee shop, but its definitely not. Its a great, non touristy bistro with excellent food!
- Vegetarians rejoice! Their edamame & quinoa burger is delicious!
