This is possibly the most confusing building ever designed. But you have to visit it once, just because it's so unique. GM did some great renovations. The Wintergarden is awesome!

Pretty in a throw back way. The steel, chrome, glass and light wood panels. The view from the court of the river and Windsor is great to see

Take the side elevators up as high as you can to get a crazy view of downtown Detroit or Windsor (depending on which side you're on).

Welcome to the 2011 AAJA convention hotel! You don't have to leave if you want caffeine (Coffee Beanery, Starbucks) or a quick bite (Potbelly). Be sure to check out the riverfront views of Canada! Read more

Be sure to take the tour. Sign up is on the first floor and the times are 12pm and 2pm. It's a little boring but they take you to the top of the building!

With over 70 stores and restaurants, a hotel, a 4-screen movie theater, and 5 million square feet of floor space, the Renaissance Center is so large it has its own zip code!

Beautiful place, but easy to get lost in. Also most stores and aren't open on the weekend, and the tour isn't offered on weekends either.

The RenCen, built in the mid 1970s, is home to General Motors, Deloitte and Blue Cross-Blue Shield of Michigan. Also has a shopping area and food court.

HUGE and easy to get lost in. Also 1 of the places to sport Detroit's population decline: it was clearly built for far more traffic than it gets

If you're looking for bathrooms, go to the lower level foodcourt - it's sort of winding around the corner if you go right from the escalators.

Service in Volt Lounge was snail-like at lunch. But at least they had several veg options. Room is small-ish but awesome view (albeit a bit scary if you don't love heights). But bed seems comfy.

Might be the worst architectural design ever. The only way to get to anywhere is to walk around in circles. Loooong circles. At least 3 of them. Bad job, John C. Portman!
