As an alternative to cycling, hikers should visit Hanging Lake, a mysterious, emerald-hued natural wonder located high in the bluffs.
With a network of trails to suit every level of hiker, get up-close with the Flatirons (the slanting slabs of sandstone that are Boulder’s most recognizable landmark) framed by a beautiful meadow.
Head to Frisco, where you can rent canoes, kayaks, pontoon boats and paddle boats to explore 25 miles of shoreline. Then stop off at the Peninsula Recreation Area for disc golf, picnics and hiking.
Relax over lunch at a fabulous restaurant, such as Sweet Basil, The Wildflower or Vail Chophouse. Then do some world-class shopping: Think couture and down-to-earth T-shirt shops and art galleries.
A gem! Great to explore on foot or bike (57 miles of carriage trails!) and plenty of guided tour options too! If you need a break, try a bus or trolley tour of the park. Hot? Take a dip at Sand Beach!
