- Not your average veggie burger. So much more and handmade with oats and grains and tofu. A little messy at times but so worth it! Carnivores and veggies alike, try out out!
- Perfect place to have a bite and beer and watch the snow flying on the Halifax Harbour! Yummy Gastropub food.
- Best beer in the city and the biggest patio with an incredible view. However, the food is very hit or miss and several of the servers are terrible and rude. Go for the beer and the garlic fries.
- Metro NewsJanuary 25, 2010Enjoy the view of Halifax Harbour from the atrium windows and munch on the Trio of Dips (hummus, olive & tomato and red pepper chevre) and a refreshing Lobster Wrap or Mocha Broiled Chicken. Read more
- Amazing food, fantastic in-house beer! Great location and staff! Planning a visit this weekend. :)
- Be adventurous try one of the great local craft beers!
- Definitely try one of the 2 (always changing) in-house beers!
- Bethie MaeAugust 9, 2011The Cobb salad is quite possibly the best in the city... And the Brewmaster's garlic fries are a must!
- 'HOPPY TUESDAY' is every tuesday from 5pm until close (not 4-7pm as Ben states) $2 per glass off Thistle's own hand crafted beers!
- Giles CrouchApril 1, 2012The plates seem a little "cold" in terms of the presentation...a certain warmth is missing and the gravy seems to be "canned" versus a thick, true English gravy. Needs more warmth feeling.
- It gets crazy busy in the summer, so try to come in around 2 for a late lunch. :)
- Jonathan HarrisJuly 17, 2011Decent food, Calamari was delicious and nicely presented, however the portion size for redfish sandwich was smallish
- Rachel BeaulieuSeptember 3, 2011Fantastic Veggie Burger. Garlic fries are a bit on the salty side though.
- DonnieSeptember 27, 2012Clearly aimed to exploit tourists, this place is overpriced and has a very limited selection at the bar. Lobster roll and chowder with Caesar was $30?! It was the worst lobster roll I've ever had.
- Sarah SunshineAugust 4, 2013Not a full house and waited 1.5 hours for fish and chips and a salad. Lots of staff, limited attention. Zzzzzzz The mediocre ratings and reviews were spot on.
- Matthew CookSeptember 4, 2011Don't take your kid here with an ice cream so you can have a drink because they won't serve you.
- Don ThompsonJune 30, 2013Food is reasonable. Kind of expensive for what you get. The $3 adder for a side garden salad isn't worth the upgrade.
- James DwyerNovember 22, 2012Do not order the southern fried chicken, it's re heated, not crispy and the Mac salad taste like its from a store. Nasty!
