Fantastic Belgian-inspired beer bar with decent draft selection (15 beers) and an amazing bottle list. (I had a bottle of Cantillon Vigneronne.) Quality food, but the menu is limited. Not cheap though

Great beer selection and a super friendly staff that helps you not feel like an idiot when you're ordering from a seemingly endless list of beers that you can't pronounce. Trust their recommendation!

Michael knows everything about beer and especially the Belgian ones. He has more than 500 of them and will gladly help you get the perfect beer for your taste. MUST GO TO IF YOU LIKE BEER!

Prepare yourself for some really, seriously sketchy service, but their beer selection is amazing (don't like hops? Try the Bavik!), and their fries are excellent especially given the range of sauces!

Great variety of beers. Very pleasant waiter (Mat). He knew his beers and where we could go later for good coffee and Hungarian coffee cake.

The most unpretentious beer bar in the city, and definitely the best bar in North Beach

It's a fantastic speakeasy type place with a tap list that is out of this world. Great decor and atmosphere

I've never eaten here, but the cellar bar is a great place to grab a belgian ale in SF. Cell phone reception is crap down there, but hey i think that's a good thing.

Looking in from the street, this place doesn't look like much more than a restaurant, but go in & downstairs & you will find the bar where everyone is hanging out.

Deep inventory of beer. My personal favorite is the Caracole. Get the muscles and fries with it.

For food get the burger - fries come with mayo based sauces (best is either wasabi or chipotle)

If you're whining abort price, look at the ABV and size. Then come during happy hour to fey $1 off. You can end up with a 330cl that's 8% and only $3. Worth two beers anywhere else and way tastier.

The fries are decent, but you're there for the beer. I'm a fan of the allagash on tap, but there's plenty of variety (250+ bottled plus many on tap).
