Had a fantastic meal here. Lowlife certainly lives up to the hype. Try the borscht and scallops to start and the signature Chicken Yakitori for your main. Get a seat at the chef's counter if you can!

good vibe with some truly memorable dishes. they now seem to be offering a tasting menu with some more experimental plates. great playlist (fela kuti, can, eno). sit at the counter; the cooks engage!

The food is ultra-seasonal, and there are a few Japanese accents sprinkled throughout. The menu includes lamb tartare, borscht with trout roe, radicchio with squid, and yakitori chicken. Read more

Gorgeous hyperlocal fare. Get a couple bottles of wine and share a long meal with friends. If the full yakitori chicken or the lamb tartare is on the menu, order it!

SO great and the whole experience reminds one why hospitality is a thing. Fuck the chicken-- The rib eye cap w compressed pear was real special. Lamb tartare, fluke, milk dessert were other faves.

When you walk in the door the smells and sensations take you out of LES and into a magical place where the wine pairings are spontaneous and the food is next level.

Exceptional Chef, delicious interesting dishes that can be shared. Unique wines to pair. Sit at the Chef's counter.

One month in, the food is decent, but not yet stellar. Small plates more interesting than large plates. Chicken yakitori is massively overrated. Borscht, lamb tartare are solid. Kitchen way too slow.

Tiniest portions ever. Ridiculously overpriced. My vegan friend literally paid $24 for a piece of tofu with lettuce. Had to go for pizza afterwords. Paid $70 per person. Just. Don't. Go. Rude waitress

very disappointing experience for my vegan and vegetarian friends, sadly. hopefully the kitchen figures out how to do more than cold tofu.
