- EaterApril 23, 2013Masu is considered one of the best spots for sushi, but don't stop there. The menu also includes izakaya (Japanese bar snacks), all sorts of noodles (soba, udon, ramen), and sake flights.
- City PagesAugust 5, 2014Masu is the first restaurant in the area to offer sustainably sourced sushi, so instead of the typical tuna, the kitchen offers several fish less seen on sushi menus but well worth discovering. Read more
- Great service, food, drinks, atmosphere, and happy hour! Loved their Cider Werks seasonal. Gyoza and any sushi roll. Never had to wait even around 6-7pm when it seemed crazy busy during dinner rush.
- Mabel LuAugust 20, 2015Pork belly ramen and tonkotsu curry ramen were good. Sake sashimi was amazing. The only comment is that the edamame should've been steamed/boiled longer cuz the texture is a bit hard.
- Fantastic fresh rolls, traditional or creative, but the best thing is the variety. There's Izakaya, noodles, mochi ice cream, and deadly good bacon wrapped quail eggs. Do the happy hour for values.
- They have Panchinko. They. Have. Panchinko! Malu roll was a really fun taste experience - you can't go wrong with a Firecracker roll or Masu roll. Service slow when busy, but relax and converse :)
- Carolyn AndersonOctober 21, 2015The sushi is DELICIOUS. I had a rainbow roll and sake nigiri and had to get a second order of nigiri I liked it so much.
- Jesse SpaldingFebruary 10, 2015Never a let down. Great sushi, even better ramen and rice bowls. Wait staff are always on target and super awesome. Try the quail eggs and poke!
- Josh ChambersApril 28, 2017Atmosphere feels like a mall restaurant. Sushi was solid. Some of the cocktails are made in large batches so ask first. Overall, it's good but doesn't deserve the 9+ rating on Foursquare.
- City PagesApril 18, 2013Voted Best Japanese Restaurant of 2013! At this sleek Northeast shop everything from the oysters to dried squid is an excellent example of Japanese izakaya — the Asian version of pub grub. Read more
- Dr. Health InspectorMarch 1, 2017Are you a vegetarian...try the steamed buns with agadashi tofu not on menu & miso corn or a custom roll. Edamame with smoked sea salt is very good.
- Salmon sashimi opening night was the best I've ever had! Try the uzura maki (bacon wrapped quail egg) and the double precious martini. Yum!
- Best vegetarian sushi menu around. They bring out an entirely separate vegan menu!
- Niqui Rodger (ruiz)February 25, 2014The dynamite roll is probably my favorite now, but everything is delicious. The fish house punch has a fun ice cube on it and is very tasty.

- Jon PetronMarch 31, 2013Best Sushi in MSP. And when you order the Lucky Millionaire mojito it comes with a Mn state lotto ticket.
- eryn oJanuary 8, 2013Gluten-free friends, this place has your back. They offer a separate GF menu containing about 1/3 of the items, tamari (GF soy sauce), and a knowledgeable staff.
- Phuong TranApril 18, 2014Salmon sashimi was good. Pork belly Ramen was good, not to die for. I will be back though to try more.
- Marty O.March 12, 2017Get saki at 98 degrees, how it's meant to be consumed. Crunchy salmon & firecracker are good picks

- Stephen KoontzAugust 26, 2014Small but quick service. A little more than I'm used to paying for sushi at a midscale restaurant.
- Robbie HelzerAugust 12, 2014Sit at the bar, sushi chefs will customize a roll for you if you ask nicely!
- Abby MeixnerDecember 23, 2012Great place in up and coming neighborhood. Love the gummy bear garnish on the cocktails.
- Go adventurous. Order the Yellow Submarine. Sounds crazy, but it's light, rich, silky and delicate all at the same time.
- The sushi here is fantastic, Artic Char. Try a little of everything. Great noodles, robata, and apps.
- Darshy NDecember 1, 2011Ditch the menu and go omakase like a pro. The chefs (Chan) will definitely yell ‘Arigatogozaimashita’ when you leave. C'mon, Dare ya!
- Lela PhommasouvanhJuly 6, 2012Try the Tonkotsu Ramen w/ Pork Belly - Seriously the best ramen in town. Hands down.
- Best sushi in Minneapolis! Firecracker Roll is through the roof!
- Jay TappeApril 27, 2011Get the oysters. They actually have a great authentic Japanese flavor. Place is beautiful. Congrats to the best chef in the Midwest. Tim McKee!
- Colleen MullinsJanuary 13, 2012They seem to be using lettuce in lieu of shiso?? White guy making sushi with a finger cot on...impressive. But the guy out front on the sushi bar, is a talent.
- Peter OrganisciakAugust 8, 2014Try the Omakase Flight for a diverse set of sake chosen on your behalf.
