Great place to discover new beers—the food is pricey, but solid. Known for its extensive, upscale beer list and rare brews on tap, Monk's doesn't take reservations—get there around 5 to avoid lines.

There's no place better to discover new beers! The food is all great! They don't take reservations, so get there around 5 to get a table quickly for dinner. They don't have tables larger than a 4-top.

A tad spendy, but that's normal on Mission. Awesome veggie burger. Giant beer menu with lot's of esoteric stuff I'd never heard of before. Great place to cozy up for a brew and some comfort food.

Good food (try the burger with brussels!), friendly service, and an extensive beer list. Don’t be afraid to ask for a recommendation. They know their stuff!

Sample some fresh German lagers this weekend in honor of Oktoberfest. The new sidewalk perch on 16th Street is going to become very sought-after for the remainder of Indian summer. Read more

By the way, #1 ranked gastropub in SF. Here you could find the whole book with a lot of beer served here. My choice- beef burger and smoked beer.

Fantastic beer selection and food but a pot expensive in comparison to other similar places. Sycamore is more down to earth option with an equally great beer list and delicious food.

Amazing beer list, friendly & helpful staff, and awesome food. It's small, so be prepared to wait (waited about an hour on a Wends night)... But it's worth it. Save room for the ice cream beer float!

The burger, the burger, the burger. Bleu cheese, grilled onions, applesmoked bacon, juicy meat, and crispy french fries. Plus a HUGE selection of beers. One of my favorite spots in SF!

Great craft beer bar with excellent bar food. Friendly and helpful staff. You might have to wait for a table or spot at the bar but it's worth it.

Taking me right back to Belgium with their beer list, mussels and fries. The leek and sweet potato risotto blew my mind.

Haven if you're a beer connoisseur, intimidating menu if you're not. Thankfully, staff is friendly & ready to talk through options. The burger is delectable, & the mushrooms on toast, if you're veg.

Higher end place - great place to bring a date when you still want to grab a beer and be classy. Excellent, friendly service too, which can be rare at a place like this in the Mission.

Great date spot, however there may be a line. Great choices of beer and I've heard they have terrific diverse "bar" food. Reminds me of a Belgium pub.

If you miss euro-style brown bars, this place is a great go-to. Solid beer list, lovely bartenders & vegetarian friendly. Pretzel knot was stellar.

Great vegetarian chickpea + tzaziki sauce burger with delicious fries. But $6 for a tiny pretzel knot makes me sad.

Pliny the Elder on draft, but since I'm not a beer snob I still don't get what the hype is about. Excellent burger and pretzels.

Go for their beer on tap that isn't on the menu. Last time they had a oatmeal stout with Szechuan peppercorn and vanilla. It was unreaaaal. Also, deliiiiicious food.

Really great selection of draft beers, but their bottled selection is what takes the cake. They have stuff I've only heard about in books.
