Located in the Belvedere hotel, this spot is bursting with a convivial atmosphere, good beer list and solid food. Gets pretty busy but for good reason. A great spot in Mount Vernon.
Baltimore's Best Bars 2013: " The bar located on the Belvedere Hotel’s first floor retains a sense of history that’s easy to feel but difficult to accurately describe." http://bsun.md/1jEnkNx
Baltimore's Best Bars 2012: "We love the pizza and affordablehappy hour prices, but this is a place to savor the rich history and atmosphere." http://bsun.md/UD2xA1
Any of the pizzas can be made into its own thin crust version which is amazing. Also not on the menu, "Red Pizza" : pepperoni, sausage, and I believe beef.
Now under new ownership the place is seeing a real revival in its level of service and food quality. Check out the awesome paninis and don't forget to get ice cream after dinner.
New management or not... I still refer to this place as the "Out Bar" as they run out of practically everything. Always have a back up in mind... You'll need it!
Avoid on Friday night: service drags. Bartenders seem more interested in clustering by the service window & chatting with other staff or watching the Os game. Didn't even ask if I wanted a 2nd drink.
Located in the historic Belvedere and once an infamous speakeasy during Prohibition, today the Owl Bar serves up delicious food and drink menus 7 days a week.
