It was very convenient years back now it is not easy to reach your contuar and pass the security post. Need to improve the process.

Cozy, small but very organizational and structured airport.
Metehan ErdoğanMarch 21, 2016Fast security check. The farthest gate is only 5 Not very crowded except holidays. City center is 30 mins away. You can only use buses or taxis. No underground train till 2018. Have a nice journey!

Semih DeliveliMay 15, 2016Try to avoid SAW although flights are cheaper. There is always a delay. My 23:55 flight is delayed by 2 hours 5 minutes because of traffic. Why they are adding new destinations is a big wonder?!

You can take a bus(Havatas) to Taksim for 5€, or to Kadikoy for 4€. You can pay with € or $, no need for change.
Nice and comfortable airport, easy to get to the gates. Little bit far away from the city center but the journey is no hassle if there is not much traffic
Miss GhJanuary 14, 2015International departures gates are situated downstairs. lots of people, small space, uncomfortable, cause you always need to wait for a bus to drive you to the plane
Starbucks is more comfy than the lounge, make sure u leave early, there might always be traffic before entry
I find that there is something at this airport which just does not flow for me. The international and domestic flights use the same building ?

Small and easy to navigate. There are several food spots. Its desirable to have more seats and rest areas for transfer passengers.
Danny PovolotskiApril 4, 2018The airport itself is pretty new and clean. However, the wait times at the border control are insane. Avoid short layovers! I nearly missed a few flights because of the border control waiting times.
there are many plugs in the terminal. but best place is next to "kahve dunyasi" to charge your mobile or your laptop. (turn left after security check)
WiFi is for a fee, u can pay if you have a Turkish number. Otherwise it is a problem. But after the passport control u can find cafes which propose wifi, that can help your waiting for the flight

There are two Havatas routes departing from the airport - to the Taksim square and to Kadikoy ferry terminal. You need the former.
If the check in have been before arriving to departure that you will get time because sometimes inside might be over crowded

There is too much options inside of the airport but before flight a cup of wine and some light food is always good inside of the airport

Small and nice airport but they need to built the second runway and the metro as soon as possible.
Alot better than LTBA less crowded and alot easy to detour around to find your way

it has only one terminal. most of the time crowdy. it is really far away from the city center of istanbul
