- Jonathan Libov September 20, 2018The pelmeni are sitting in a butter broth and they’re insanely good. The Ukrainian Borscht was really good too and I don’t even like borscht.
- Village VoiceAugust 15, 2014For mains, go for the chicken tabaka (an entire fried bird paved with crushed garlic) or kupati (a pork sausage laced with pomegranate syrup, and not all that sweet). Read more
- Village VoiceAugust 15, 2014The whole smoked mackerel makes a wonderful cheap starter, and so does katchapouri (here spelled "hatchapouri"), a Georgian flatbread oozing white cheese. Read more
- Eug KJune 5, 2016Great traditional Russian/Soviet food. Olivie salad, salted codfish, pelmeni - everything was excellent. NB: Stolichnaya is not Russian, take Russian Standard
- Maria BFebruary 27, 2013If u Russian or just like Russian food that's a good place to go. I missed dumplings and rassolnik and shish kebab and all that was so delicious there!
- The salmon tartar and the lamb shank in teriyaki sauce are really really fresh n yummy. The lamb is so so soft & delicate, it falls right off the bone.
- Yaroslav PatrikeevNovember 16, 2014Price is good, food is authentic and tasty. Highly recommend for those eager to try Russian food
- The lamb shank in teriyaki sauce is amazing. Another must try is the salmon tartar :-)
- Marnen Laibow-KoserSeptember 22, 2012Try the smoked fish platter. The pickle assortment is *huge*; maybe too much if you're there with less than 4 people.
- Village VoiceNovember 14, 2011Winner of Best Russian in the Village Voice 2011 Best Of issue! This place concentrates on their food - not glitz.
- ᴡ ripleyAugust 1, 2010I second the potato/mushroom recommendation. Also, try the cheesy flat bread and the stroganoff - it has a great cream sauce comes with fluffy mashed potatoes!
- Maksim SlavinNovember 26, 2011Greek Salad is good here, made Russian style with Basturma (meat) and Brinza (cheese)
- Village VoiceNovember 9, 2010The Village Voice voted this Best Chicken Tabaka in our Best Of New York Poll!
- Maxime BuryJuly 15, 2013The food is decent, but the service is lacking (dishes out of order at first, then everything came at once, letting the entrees get cold) and the music is obnoxious.
- Mildred CadySeptember 23, 2012There's a 10% surcharge, that I'm not sure where it comes from- there were only two of us at the table.
- Michael TiffanyMay 22, 2010The fried potatoes with mushrooms are excellent, with very good mushrooms
- Mitya SudakovJanuary 12, 2014
- Slava ArkharovOctober 1, 2013
- Masha🌽 EmelyanovaJanuary 15, 2018
- Pavel FedotovApril 29, 2018
- Kseniya GrozdichJune 1, 2013
