- Lady SmileJanuary 15, 2016I really love this place. I can hang out as long as I want before work. Great selection of desserts. One of my guilty pleasures! Need an updated bathroom though.
- WinnieAugust 10, 2015Cheap and yummy breakfast food. Great service. Open 24/7 and has breakfast food all day!
- SeemaApril 22, 2014Nice view w open windows. Huge sandwiches, great ice tea and they play awesome music. Also Michael is the best. Such a great cheerful attitude :)
- Kevin Jan MOctober 23, 2014They serve a delicious Chai-Tea-Latte 😋 The other treats are a geat pleasure too and the staff is really really friendly & funny!
- Tamara HSeptember 13, 2011Surprisingly calm considering it's location. Don't let the counter fool you—seat yourself for table service, and pick a table in the back, shielded from the hubbub of the street.
- Shanita MitchellJuly 28, 2013The bacon deluxe burger were good and the French fries were great! Nice ANC crunchy. Good eats for a low price.
- Alexandra I.August 26, 2014Some of the best gelato I've had in a very long time! Plus the service is excellent!
- Scrambled eggs done just right. A step above your average diner/coffee shop in execution and service.
- Pancakes and French Toast are really good and the portions are HUGE! They come with a serving of assured fruit and powdered sugar on top.
- Elizabeth TuckerMay 11, 2012It's a shame that tourists head straight to places like Magnolia's or Crumbs - Sugar has the best Red Velvets in New York City, full-stop.
- NearSay NYCJuly 25, 2011A great little café that will satisfy your sweet tooth. The mint chocolate chip ice cream and the red velvet cake are out of this world!
- Like that place! Solid breakfast, great squeezed orange juice & pancakes 24 hours!
- Jo ChowDecember 18, 2011I worked here. AVOID baked goods! They put the day-old out and leave flies having babies in their pies). The BBQ chicken is best in the city though.
- King TommyMay 29, 2013It's May 29th and they had pumpkin pie! It was pretty decent but I love how they had it this time of year.
- Tony MachinJuly 5, 2013The cupcakes I had were kinda lame. The snicker and oreo cookie one were just vanilla cupcakes with flavored icing. Shoulda just got the red velvet.
- Go for brunch! Delicious, and cheap for NYC. Desserts are excellent, too.
- Amanda HarrisJuly 6, 2015Great selection of desserts but wasn't impressed with waffles or chocolate layer cake.
- Thompson HotelsFebruary 24, 2012Partying ‘til dawn is easy to do in the LES. Wind down with a late night/early morning snack at the 24-hour Sugar Café.
- Elizabeth Elle FellowsAugust 20, 2012The most amazing mint chocolate chip gelato with frozen chocolate pieces. Nom.
- Jorge GeorgeDecember 3, 2011Try the specials. Well served for the price and everything I've tried so far is delicious.
- M TSeptember 28, 2011everything looks delicious-tried the red velvet cup cake which was the perfect balance of sweetness.

- NOM NOM BorisFebruary 16, 2012Smoked Turkey one of the most nomnom brie sandwiches. The super cheesy! More tips & pics @ nomnomboris.com
- Their dirty chai lattes are the best! Spiced liquid crack!!
- 24/7 baked goods? I'll be having that. Many sugar-free late nights have been avoided by the acquisition of one of their very handy Red Velvet cupcakes.
- Eric MNovember 12, 2010amazing food if you want to wait a while. 25 minutes for a really thin turkey burger doesn't cut it. other than that, the food is great!
- Annie LuOctober 10, 2012Made the classic rookie mistake of ordering based on looks and was enticed by the tiramisu. Should've stuck to the red velvet - tiramisu was dry and weirdly lumpy. $5 for a huge square - save your $$
- Katherin SonJune 11, 2012Two thumbs up for the bagels here...I once asked where they were from but can't remember. :( Open 24/7.
- Vito TartagliaOctober 13, 2015The coffee is good. Cakes not bad but alai not too good. I.e. Red velvet was too much dry and roux icing too heavy.
