- One of the best all around meals I've ever had and somehow also one of the most reasonable. Got the 10 pc nigiri w/ tuna roll and the toro and everything couldn't have been fresher and more delicious.
- EaterNovember 6, 2013One of the original sushi bars in America, this popular Little Tokyo destination still makes very good sashimi and sushi. The yellowtail, salmon, live shrimp, and toro are especially well done here.
- David ChuiOctober 7, 2014been to many sushi place and this is the first that use wasabi grounded from raw wasabi. go figure how legit this place is. try the engawa nigiri. it's not on the menu, so ask for it.
- Everyone knows already that this place is amazing. Sit at the bar, order the sweet shrimp, drink loads of sake!
- Lindsey WarrenOctober 19, 2017Both the chirashi and sashimi lunch specials are great and so much food! Get the sashimi if you want more fish. Gets very crowded around 12:30.
- Joey NgMarch 24, 2012Their Chirashu Matsu is the best I've ever had. Really great presentation. However, be careful when you order off menu, prices may shock you i.e. $5 for 3 tiny slices of oshinko!
- Lydia ColaresiNovember 17, 2013Everything was superior to almost every sushi restaurant I have been too. Seaweed salad, clam miso, octopus and albacore were standouts.
- Samuel JacksonMay 29, 2015go for the snapper! Mushroom miso soup is good. Sweets shrimp was yummy. Seared albacore! You can't really go wrong.
- Michael AmsterFebruary 8, 2019The restaurant specializes in Mackerel, Spanish mackerel and gizzard shad from Japan, but all the sushi was excellent.
- Dorothy ChenSeptember 30, 2011The black cod dinner is delicious. Perfectly crisped edges, flakey and meaty ranking up there with Chilean seabass. It's cooked in sake for a mildly sweet flavor.
- Jason LukJuly 6, 2013If you're a Chirashi fan definitely upgrade to the more expensive of the two. The uni is wonderfully buttery in it!
- bobi shengAugust 20, 2018Chirashi is the best. Owner is sweet. Sushi chefs are awesome. OPEN SUNDAYS!
- Jeff ChangMay 2, 2010Top Gear Top Tip: Sit at the bar and ask for Omakase (Chef's Choice) - It's a totally different experience when the Sushi Chef is tending to you and occasionally interrupted to serve a table.
- great food, cozy atmosphere and nice staff! try the unagi bowl or chirashi (comes with free small plates)
- KidhackDecember 30, 2012The hamachi and Spanish mackerel with bones were great. The Chirashi looks good but didn't order it. .
- Say hi to Keishu at the door, he's dope! Also, get the sushi chefs drunk, they love it.
- John LiNovember 9, 2010Tried to overcharge me on my takeout and even charged $1 extra for the spicy mayo sauce. Wtf? Check your bills before u pay...dishonest staff!
